The Parselmouth

Rainy- (Let's resume Lockhart speech, he's going to fight Snape on a duel to show us how it is done) ... so, who wants to bet that Snape ends this with one spell?

They begun to put us into pairs and Snape used the chance to make Harry face Malfoy. Lockhart made me face a guy from Slytherin with an unknown name. In my fight, I ended it quickly with a chantless expelliarmus, and I went to see the duel between Harry and Malfoy. It was almost as quick as mine. Malfoy used protego against the first spell Harry used and then an expelliarmus, ending the duel. Harry was quite pissed off because of the lose, and Malfoy had a really smug face.

Rainy- Hey Draco, do you think you can beat me now?

Malfoy- what? Of course. Whenever you want!

Rainy- (pff, this victory really has gone to his head...) good, let's do it.

I went to the central stage and Snape told Malfoy to not lose, pushing him to the other side of the stage. I bowed, and positioned myself on a way that he can only see my left side, using the wand as if it was a rapier with my left arm. He bowed and used a weird position that I don't think is that good. When Lockhart ended the countdown, Malfoy begun to use some spells on chain, and I protected myself with a chantless protego. When he stopped, I used expelliarmus and a quick expulso behind, then expelliarmus again. He defended the first spell with protego, but the expulso destroyed his barrier and I thought the second expelliarmus would hit him but he dodged to the left. He then used a spell that conjured a snake, and it seemed pretty poisonous.

Rainy- wow, that's new!

Snape- don't move, miss Lionheart. I'll get rid of it.

Gilderoy- allow me!

Rainy- oy! This is my duel! Why can't I fight the sna-

But Gilderoy had other plans. He used a spell that made the snake fly ten meters before falling and seemed very angry. Then the snake begun to threaten a Hufflepuff that I think I should know but I don't. then Harry got closer to the Hufflepuff

Harry- leave him alone!

The snake stopped the threatening on that moment. I was curious with the snake so I begun to talk with it too.

Rainy- oh! You know English? That's cool!

Snake- ?

Then Snape got closer and used a weird spell that banished the snake.

Rainy- oy! Again? I was talking to it!

Snape- I saw that, miss Lionheart

Justin- what were you two playing at?

Justin (the unknown Hufflepuff) seemed to be really upset with us and stormed out of the Great Hall. Then I looked at everyone and they were looking to Harry and me with fear.

Rainy- (something weird is happening. better if we get out soon.) that's not very nice! Harry, let's get out of here!

Harry- y-yeah.

We went to the common room with Hermione and Ron. And there they begun to question us.

Ron- you two are Parselmouth! Why didn't you tell us?

Rainy/Harry- a what?

Ron- Parselmouth! You can talk with snakes!

Harry- I know. I mean, that's only the second time I've ever done it. I accidentally set a boa constrictor on my cousin Dudley at the zoo once. Not very nice, I know, but it was telling me it had never seen Brazil and I sort of set it free without meaning to. That was before I knew I was a wizard.

Rainy- but I'm not that! I mean, I've seen a lot of snakes before in the forest, and I couldn't talk with them... so why now...

Harry- anyway, why you two have that face?

Ron- because it's something bad, Harry.

Harry- what? Why? I'm sure there are a lot of people who can talk with snakes!

Hermione- no, there aren't. that's a special trait Salazar Slytherin had. That's why the symbol of the Slytherin house is a snake!

Harry- but I had to talk with it! If I didn't stop it there-

Ron- so that's what you told it! Harry we were only hearing you talking on snake language.

Rainy- wait... we were talking other language?

Hermione- yes. Parsel. Snake language. Everyone there only heard you both making snake sounds

Hermione- !! of course! That means that the monster of Slytherin is a snake that can petrify!

Rainy- exactly!

Ron- it's good that we figured out this, but... you two are going to be hated by the students, you know?

Rainy- as long as you two don't hate us... I don't even remember that Hufflepuff guy's name.

Harry- his name is Justin... don't you remember him?

Rainy- I only remember memorable people... he's a pretty normal guy, and the only thing he has that makes me remember we have talked with him before is that he's annoying. Anyway, tomorrow I'll go to the lake with Luna. Do any of you want to come?

Hermione- I'll go to the library. Now that we know it's a snake, I have to search for one that can survive a thousand years and that can petrify people.
