The Guild

During the journey to Coriacea, Annie told us some things about this country. It is a small country called Mairia, with only three major towns, called Coriacea, which is the one with the biggest Adventurers Guild. The capital of the country Hirsuta, which has the king's castle and the biggest merchant guild. And Crenata, the port town, which is smaller than the other two but is a major town because it has a lot of tourism. Annie also told us that there are currently no wars in this country, and that the Adventurers Guild need all help they can get, because lately there have been a lot of necromancers on the outskirts of the major towns using skeletons to attack the merchants. Or goblins attacking small villages. Or manticores on the roads.

Rainy- then something or someone is trying to attack this country indirectly with monsters?

Annie- that's what some people say, but there is no proof and this many monsters... is not like it's unprecedented.

Rainy- i see. Well i'll have to help a lot on the guild from now on. Anyway we'll be staying for three months only.

Annie- only three months? Where are you going next?

Rainy- we'll come back to our school. We are doing this on a three months vacation we got.

Annie- didn't know there was a witch school close by

Rainy- there isn't, we used a random teleport to this place, and the same magic will return us to our school in a week, after that we'll be able to teleport between our school and those places we've visited previously

Annie- wow! That sounds amazingly convenient. And i've never heard of teleport magic...

Rainy- hehe, i've told you. We are really special.

Hermione- then Rainy, you are going to work hard to help the guild right?

Rainy- that's right... wait, then...?

Hermione- that's right. I can't just wait this week on a bedroom while you are risking your life, helping out there. I'll become an adventurer too.

Rainy- good, good. But you are not a SeeD so we'll have to work hard on teaching you expulso, and stupefy. After that protego, and if there's time left a good old lumos maxima can help too.

Hermione- actually i can already do protego, and lumos maxima.

Rainy- oh? Then i think i can teach you expulso before we get to the town.

After that we had to sleep a night on the outside, and it was a really good point the fact that they were full-fledged adventurers, even if they are only D-rank. That's something Sai told us, the Adventurers Guild works with ranks for the adventurers. Being E for the beginners, D for the normal adventurers, C for the veterans, B for those with outstanding abilities, A for those who can deal with minor national problems and S for those the nation consider treasures. He told us that there are only 2 S-ranks on this country, and that 1 of them isn't strong, but his special ability makes him more important than the nobility. But no one knows his ability outside some of the royalty. Anyway, these D-rank adventurers can deal with the normal stuff, and camping is one of them. I did a guard turn with Norman too because i know how to do it. After all i've been living on the forest 1 month. But Hermione fell asleep instantly and i wouldn't let anyone awake her. She's not used to this things. Norman told me about the fact that my magic was awesome because i did it chantless. It seems that in this world, the magic needs long chants, and they use something they call simply magic.

The next day we arrived to the town of Coriacea, and it's awesome. It's really like a fantasy city, with a wall surrounding the town and streets filled with adventurers, or at least, armed people. We had to pay to enter, and being new on the town we had to buy IDs too. But the adventurers paid, saying that it was their way to pay back the golem incident.

One thing i asked was if there were other races, because after reading The Hobbit, i really wanted to see dwarfs. Basically to ask them some special and magic rapier with something like a fantasy mineral. They should be really good with the blacksmith job. But it seems that there are not. Norman told me that there were only humans normally. There are exceptions but there aren't enough magical races for them to have a country or something like that, so you can find a beastman once in a while, but it's really rare.

After that they showed us the way to the guild, and told us good things about an inn that we found on the way. we had yet to become adventurers, and i was worried about Hermione, wanting to teach her stupefy, but we were already there.

Rainy- here we are, let's go.

And what i thought that would be a dark place with a lot of dangerous looking people. Was a really tidy, bright place, with the same dangerous looking people i thought of. Hermione walked right behind me looking intimidated, so i raised my head proudly and walked to the counter. There, a girl with a very friendly voice and a strong-looking gauntlets talked to us.

???- hi! My name is Lucy, and i'm the receptionist of the Adventurers Guild. What can i do for you, little girls?

Rainy- my name is Rainy, and my friend here is Hermione. We would like to become adventurers.

Lucy- i see, do you already know how to fight?

Rainy- yes

Lucy- good, then what profession do you have?

Rainy- you mean as warrior, or assassin or the likes?

Lucy- yes, that's right

Rainy- well, i'm a SeeD. And my friend is a witch.

Lucy- i never heard of Seed as a profession.

Rainy- you'll see soon enough. Anyway, what do we have to do to be adventurers?

Lucy- you have to fight one of our adventurers. Here you have a list of those who are ready to take fight request. When you have decided who you will fight, tell me.

Hermione- what should we do? I don't think i'll be able to beat a professional adventurer.

Rainy- you don't have to beat them. Look. There are only 3 D-ranks here, the rest are higher. Probably you just have to fight someone you think you can go with all you've got but that won't beat you without you showing off your moves right Lucy?

Lucy- that's right, you have to pick according to your strength

Rainy- you see? You should pick a C-rank or B-rank wizard, that way you can use consecutive spells and maybe the combat won't end with the first spell.

Hermione- you sure?

Rainy- yes. Go on. I already know who i'll fight from this list

Hermione- ok. Lucy, i'll fight this C-rank wizard called Roland.

Lucy- ok, you girls seem to think highly of your strength no?

Rainy- you don't have an idea. I choose the guild master, A-rank adventurer.

Lucy- !!

Hermione-... well, i'll say this because Ron's not here, you are officially crazy

Rainy- yes, i am

Lucy- wait! Wouldn't you reconsider!? the guild master isn't someone who can control his strength.

Rainy- i can sign a consent letter about me dying if you want...

Lucy- that's not it, i-

???- let them, i also want to see that girl's strength.

Lucy-!! guild master!

???- hi there, i'm the guild master, a magic swordsman. Nice to meet you! Now who wanted to die?

Rainy- me, guild master. That is, if you can touch me.
