"How did you end up in China?"

The cute girl before him had been keeping a quiet cool girl attitude this whole time. From the beginning when she approached him, who was originally planning on becoming a side character of the classroom, pretending to be invisible and unnoticed.

He who was strongly against involving himself with civilians, had without a second thought, been following this girl the whole day. Even to the point of sitting next to her, whether it was to satisfy his curiosity of her or simply because he found her cute, he found himself immediately drawn to this girl.

Even as the hours passed, be it looking out for him or helping him, she had been by his side despite her cold yet quiet attitude. Sure, he was surprised when she swore out of the blue, but this just served to increase his curiosity. And when he saw her mysterious changes in expression, he was sure this girl had many secrets to herself. This just made her more intriguing.

However, the present question brought him out in cold sweat. The sole reason why he was in China was supposed to be kept confidential. If she turned out to be an enemy then she would probably ruin the whole operation that the IASC (International Agency of Supernatural Control) had enlisted him with.

Yes, he was an agent in charge of reporting the unscientific behaviour inside the city. This scope involved various different categories from the occult, such as superpowers to aliens; and it all was secretly managed by the IASC.

Of course, all of this was carried out by different levels of agents. Zane was but a mere rookie agent to the organisation and was still in training. And yet even then, he was still transferred together with his master and family to China on the last moment's notice.

Even his family was not entirely aware of this job with the exception of his master. As such, it was impossible for him to reveal anything confidential. As he smiled and replied to her question, he had already chosen to go with his carefully planned answer.

"My family moved here because of their job, so I had to follow along." he explained.

Wang Yu Xia, who was listening intently was starting to think that this event might as well be completed given to the straightforward answer from her "date".

Of course, a person such as her who had time-travelled thanks to a useless system would never imagine that the person in front of her was actually associated with a supernatural agency. But hey, it's not like she could read her own novel filled with all of the future events revealed. So she did what any normal person would, and chose to believe him.

Anyways, she had now found out one of the main event objectives and needed to quickly fulfil the other requirement-- getting to know Zane.

As if it was the most natural thing in the world, she brought out her phone and asked for his contact information.

Zane looked blankly for a second before reacting and sending his contact information through bluetooth. In the year 2009, flip phones were a commonly used item, so it surprised Wang Yu Xia that when Zane took out his phone, what greeted her wasn't a motorola or a blackberry, instead it was your average IPhone 3G.

Zane was a loyal fan to the Apple brand. On the contrary, Wang Yu Xia's phone was the current Huawei smartphone at the time.

"Oh yeah! I'm going to need your birthday too. Mine is July 27th." she said enthusiastically.

Wang Yu Xia was trying hard to gather as much information as possible to quickly complete the event. After all, Zane was her friend and she had no plans of making him anything more than that any time soon.

For f*ck's sake, they were only 12!

After collecting all of the information on Zane, she found out that he was from March 27th-- He's an Aries. Like most innocent girls, during her younger days in the past, she would delve deep into the mysteries of the zodiac signs, be they the Sun Signs or Chinese Signs, Wang Yu Xia has always been a superstitious person.

As such, she would often research her compatibility with other sun signs, and as a Leo she knew very well that her top 3 compatible signs were: Aries, Gemini and Aquarius. So when she heard Zane's answer, for a moment her eyes brightened and she looked excited.

"You're an Aries?!" she gasped.

Zane, who had only just adjusted to Wang Yu Xia's barrage of questions, was sadly in for another one. Unlike Yu Xia, he wasn't a superstitious person, and yet he was knowledgeable enough to realise what Wang Yu Xia had been pointing at when she asked that question.

"And you're a Leo. It's awesome!" he smiled.

It was then that Wang Yu Xia was caught off guard by Zane's smile. To a time-traveller like her whose age is much older than what she appears, such a cute smile by a blonde foreign child was just mesmerising-- and not in a wrong way.

It was just then that a string of messages brought her back to reality.

Just as she was about to check her current stats, out of the corner of her eye, she noticed someone standing next to her as if waiting for the right moment to speak. Wang Yu Xia lifted her head to see who this person was. And at that exact moment, another notification rang out in her head as her eyes met that person.

Wang Yu Xia almost threw her food out of anger as she glanced at the shameless advice given by the system. Luckily, she was able to control herself and instead focused on the person before her eyes.

"Xia Xia, we meet again!" his voice rang out energetically as he came to greet her affectionately. In front of Zane and Yu Xia was a dark-haired tall boy with piercing chocolate eyes that could bewitch anyone.

This was Wang Yu Xia's first love, and the most heart-wrecking of them all. This was the boy that made her world crumble-- the one partially responsible for her current mental state.
