Condemed to Suffer

Five years have passed since the day the twins grace this world. Yet every year that their birth should have been celebrated and be joyful, it was instead filled with contempt and sorrow. Of the two children of Elyse and Lyon, only the young boy Lynnox or Nox has had a happy life. For young Nyxdeath it was simply torture. Not once in her young life does she felt that her father loves her or even think that she too is his child. Every time Lyon is sober, all his attention is solely focused on his son. The best things that he can afford to buy or get will go directly to Nox while he doesn't seem to care for her daughter. He will only call for her whenever she did something that pissed her father but most of the time, she was only ignored as if she doesn't exist in her father and brother's world. But fear gripped the young girls heart when her father is drunk and that is every night. Lyon make it his routine to torture his daughter especially when the spirit of alcohol engulfed his being. Every foul words will be hurdled to the poor child. She was even beaten almost everytime to the point where she could hardly stand. She sometimes wish that she's dead whenever her father best her but everytime she remembers that her mother's life was the cost of her being alive, she was gripped with remorse. She couldn't possibly think that way, she always told herself. The only moment of peace for young Nyx was whenever her father went to work or when he is asleep.

Poor little Nyx, the moment her being learn the ways of the world she was already bound to serve as a punching bag for her father. But despite the fact that she was treated like dirt by her own flesh and blood, she still loves her father with all her heart and hopes that there will come a time that she too will be loved by her father just like how much he loves his son.

In Nyx's young mind, she couldn't fully fathom why their father has the exact opposite emotions for her and her twin brother. His father always told her every single time that she caused their mother to die and yet doesn't blame Nox.

It was only when in a fit of anger as always that her father burst out that she was never expected to be born, it was supposed to be only Nox. She was even called a curse and a demoness for she was the one who snap the life out of her mom.

In her grief, she finally accepted the fact that never will come a time that she will also be loved by her father. So every time her father suddenly had a fit, she just meekly accept all the hurt for she also blame herself for the things that is happening in her present.

Nox on his part loves his sister that whenever their father gives him something, he will sneakily keep something for his twin. He pity his sister for the things that are happening and yet he still has no strength to fight on her behalf especially that he somehow knee where that range of their father came from.

Despite this, as the eldest, Nox still tries his best to lessen the torment that his sister has to endure in the hands of their own father. Oftentimes, when their father is fully drunk, he will sneak in and replace his sister to the point where he will receive the beatings and foul words that are directed to Nyx. He also made sure that not a single sign of beating will show up in his body so that his father won't know that most of the time, it was his precious son who suffers from his own hands.

This scenario happen almost every day. Little Nyx was like a slave in their own house every morning and little Nox will take over and be beaten like a dog by their father at night.

Poor Elyse, she will never know the torment her children has to suffer in the hands of the person she has given her whole heart.

In a typical morning in the small house of Lyon, where he has just woken up. The small table already has food set in it. A hot mug of coffee was already placed. Without talking or even looking at the person who set the table, Lyon sat in the chair and silently eat the food.

By the time he was done and ready for work, he called for his son and give him penny and just like always, Nyx never received any.

Come little Nyx, let me help you clean the house first and then we're going to the town proper and I will be you something pretty. Smiled the young boy to his poor little sister.

The thought of going somewhere and her brother to buy something for her thrilled the young girl's heart. With laughter the two of them cleaned their small house and read their selves to go to the town plaza. Mind you, it is a rare opportunity for the twins to go so far away from their neighborhood. And it only happen whenever Lynnox has enough money for the both of them to be able to spend. Although they were quite young at 5 almost all the children of their neighborhood already knew the way into the plaza. It was only poor little Nyx who was not able to go in there for her father never even take her with them.

She was just glad that she has the best brother for when Nox was taken by their father the first time, he never withheld the any amazing stories for his little sister. And by keeping the penny their father give to him, he was able to take his sister for the first time in her life which gives his twin the nicest smile he had seen in her sister's face. And with that, he made sure to save the penny's as to make his sister happy.
