19 Chapter 18: Win or Lose

The military tries to fight the monster but instead they were failing to defeat the monster. Although that the monster already have injuries but it never lessens it's power and strength to kill all the humans eat them and also smashed all their weapons against him.

The Commander ask for more recruitment but instead of fighting they were running away fear to be eaten or killed by the monster. When Rachel decided to interrupt.

"Sir, please let us fight the monster" Rachel said that makes the commander look at her.

"What can you do?" The commander ask.

"Not me sir, but my friend or pet can fight it" Rachel said and look at Rakesh who is nod at her.

"Okay, but for sure no guarantee that your pet, or dragon cannot hit by our weapon to defeat the monster" The commander said.

"It's okay sir, but for now, the other half should help all the citizens to escape while the others will be staying here and help my dragon to defeat the monster" Rachel said and he nodded.

Soon, the commander ordered all of his men to follow the lead of the dragon and do not attack him. Their only target was the monster who is killing their allies.

Rakesh begins to bite the monster to help the military defeat him. Although sometimes he's getting hit by the attack of humans but he's endure it since his priority was to defeat this creature.

All the missiles, guns, were throwing at the creature who is now in pain because of the missiles and also from Rakesh attacks.

Rakesh begins to bite while the military begins to fire up missiles. They were teaming while fighting the monster when all of a sudden the creature upgraded or what we call transformed into a notorious venomous snake. It's color was now green and looking like a cobra. He was big and too fast to move that made the military hard to hit the monster.

Rakesh tries his best to defeat the monster but every time he does that the military tried to hit it unfortunately, instead the monster hit, they were hitting Rakesh. Causing him to get wounds and tired of fighting.

"Stop hitting my dragon!" Rachel shouts at the men who is trying their best to help him.

"We're sorry ma'am. We trying our best to help your dragon defeat the monster but it was too fast causing your dragon to get hit instead of the monster." One of the soldier said.

"Then don't fire up your weapons and try to stay put and wait for the right moment to hit the monster" Rachel said.

The commander nodded at the soldier to follow Rachel so instead firing their weapons they were staying and waiting for the signal from the dragon when will they fire up their weapons against the monster. When Rakesh finally can fight the monster he did his best to defeat or catch the monster, although this monster was too fast and too slimy since it was a venomous snake it was so hard for him to catch it.

But he did his best and when he catch it. He gave a signal to fire up their weapon to defeat the monster. And they were success... Although Rakesh full of wounds but he was glad that they finally hit it.

They continued to defeat the monster and they successfully wins against the monster. But before it died the monster look at him and said, "You think you are win? Remember this, even if you defeat me. There is someone will replace me and it will kill you. And you thought you are belong to these creatures? You are a monster like us, don't expect them to be trusted cause even if you help them they will betrayed you one day! Remember that Rakesh! All humans cannot be trusted!" The monster said and soon it became ashes.

"I know that from the beginning..." Rakesh only said that to the burned snake.

All the humans were happy and joy that they defeat the monster, even Rachel also happy that they defeat it.

"We won Rakesh! We won!" Rachel said cheerfully to Rakesh. Rakesh only nod at her and bowed his head for Rachel to ride on him since they were planning to find a better place for their kind to live. Rachel finally understood what Rakesh was trying to say so she bade farewell to the commander although the commander hesitate to let them go but instead he nod at her and said, "Take care both of yourselves and thank you for helping us" Rachel smiled and ride on Rakesh and they finally flew away to their village. Although Rachel look sad since this will be their adventure, and she will not be able to see her family again. But not too long, for sure she will be back for them.

They were flying when Rachel remember something, that stuck on her mind. George, she can't help but to think that maybe Rakesh suspiciously George for destroying their house to find Rakesh. And their kind although why would he betray her? I mean she know George wouldn't do something like that or there must be a reason why George did that.

But... What must be the reason why would George do such a thing like that?

"Rakesh?" Rachel ask hesitated at first to talk about him.

"Hmm?" Rakesh ask on Rachel's mind.

"Do you think, George was the one behind our house destroyed in the beginning?" Rachel ask. Rakesh seems to be surprised but he still answer her. "I'm not so sure though, he is also your friend. You should know what was his personality since you two know each other unlike me" Rakesh said.

"Well, I'm sure he's not but... Maybe... Just maybe their was a reason behind that. I just can't believe he will do such a thing. Although I know him and I trusted him" Rachel said, Rakesh remember the word "Trust" again, from the monster and from Rachel. Although he didn't know what was the meaning of the word trusted.

"You humans really like the word "trust" although I do not understand that kind of word into you humans" Rakesh said that surprise Rachel.

"You don't know that?" Rachel ask and Rakesh nodded.

"Does you all dragons don't trust each other? I mean, you can let someone handle that and you believe that it won't betray you. Something like that right" Rachel said although she also wasn't sure how to explain to the dragon the word "Trust"

"Well, we don't have trust. Since it was our duty to do our mission or what we called our laws" Rakesh said still flying through the sky away from the humans to spot them.

"Mission? What mission?" Rachel ask.

"My mission is to lead my comrades into safety were we all will be hidden from the humans although it wasn't too easy since this planet was already occupied by you humans. But we trying our best to become one of the species here in the planet to keep us hidden. That is my mission." Rakesh said.

"Oh, umm... I don't know what to say, I mean... This is the first time that I met someone has a mission although you already told me that you are too older than to all of us. But still, I cannot believe that you dragons were existing before." Rachel said.

"Well, all of us dragons were hidden a long time ago. Before I came into this world. I mean, our ancestors used to live here in peace however, there was one dragon who was hunting a food for his family when a group of what you called fisherman, saw him. So my kind tried to escape but instead they were hunting them. Since our kind was so different from all the animals living in this world so we don't have a choice but to escape. Not until a misery came, when our ancestors leader killed by the humans that is when we decided to fought back.

We win that time, but that is what we thought... When they catch one of the dragon, a little dragon and they experimented it. Although our kind became misery when our small kind was being experimented by the humans. We tried their best to save those little dragons but instead they find a way for us to defeat.

Their experiment successfully to turn all of us into ashes. Our ancestor's kind killed by all of you humans but there were also some of our ancestors escape. And they tried to learn how to be like you humans that is why all humans thought that all dragons was not existing anymore. Although all of us dragon were still alive but trying to hide our real form." Rakesh said.

"I'm so sorry to hear that, especially to your kind" Rachel said in a low voice.

"It's okay, that was all in the past. That is why I am here, and you are here to help me find a safer place for us to be hidden and to live here in peace." Rakesh said, Rachel couldn't help but to smile and rub Rakesh neck.

"Don't worry, I will protect all of you from us humans" Rachel said in her mind. Although Rakesh can read what was on her mind. He can't help but to be smile.
