17 Chapter Sixteen

"Boy, are you sure you did it? You don't have the looks" the commandant said angrily. Luke looked at the man sternly and nodded. " I did it Sir". The commandant was angry and asked the other soldiers to arrest Luke. "Take him away. I will deal with him later" he added. The soldiers took Luke away. Luke looked back at Afua and smiled again.

The commandant looked at Afua in disbelief. The soldiers told him she was the one but another person spoke up for her. How lucky she is. He was worried about what he was going to do to the assailant. There is leniency for black folks as directed by the king. He had the plans to make an example to further stake his dominance in camp but now he is at a crossroad. He looked at Afua one last time and left the podium.
