11 Regret

In the forest.

Hearing but not seeing.

Because his eyes have been taken away…honored that it was Molly herself who did it, in contrast to the blind people in the 'Coliseum'.

He was also being eaten by the minions, don't know how, since they had no mouth.

Sebastian just remembered about those days when he made his mother angry. She always said things like "I brought you into the world, so I can take you out of it" or "Your flesh comes from mine, so I'm in all my right to take them back", and he had to hold the laugh, on top of that, acting as if he was ashamed of what he had done.

Angry Molly was a completely different person, mad, but still poetic.

But now, seeing things from this moment, she verily fulfilled her word.

Only that it's a shame that it wasn't the real Molly.

This one doesn't have any right to take away a single piece of meat that his mother gave him.

Since when things went wrong?

When he felt the danger coming? No, it has to be much before.

When we chose a place far from the car to camp? It could. Who made that decision? Eva? No, she just carried our stuff like a carefree child. Was it mom? Well, she didn't even know about this place…

Then it was between me or dad… Who was it? Who chose it?

Was it dad? Or was it me?

What a shame, we could have escaped.

Although… we wouldn't have had to escape if we didn't come to this place first.

It wasn't dad for sure this time.

It was me.

I was the one who gave that one click to the screen, while he, only twisted the keys to drive.

Why! Why Sebastian! Why this place.

Why 30 miles away from the city! Why on an unmanned forest!

Because it looked nice? Really? Since when do you take decisions by appearance?

Why! Why Sebastian! Why camping! It could be a nice vacation in a hotel! On a beach! In an actual camping place!

It was you again! You heard Eva saying she wanted to go camping months ago and you decided to camp… Don't blame Eva! You decided it! She always does what you decide! They always do what I decide!

And I decided them to die!

Haha.

When I decided to run!

You genuinely thought those things can be escaped from? Eva could!

She had the possibilities!

You could do a last favor for this family, and you tied yourself to her like a leech.

She was… she was better than you! Decrepit burden!

Maybe, she was the only person in this situation who could still make choices, real choices! With actual results! But what happened? That chance was gifted to you, the little brother.

The guilty one who put us all in this situation.

To redeem.

To redeem?

Or to condemn us all!

Stupid kid!

You're sixteen years old! Do you think you're smart because you have read a dozen of internet articles?

Who told you that you can act as a leader of unconcerned lives!

And…

How do you dare to talk in the second person?

Like if you had nothing to do with your… MY sin!

I caused this! I, I, I! Me!

My problem!

'If I didn't hog the limelight.'

'If we had chose the destination together.'

'If I didn't choose this place.'

'If we had brought more stuff.'

'If I didn't retain Eva.'

'If I had told her to leave.'

'If we had run away while she was fighting.'

'If we had killed the tall monster and go.'

'If I didn't run to the monsters and made dad come with me.'

'If I had prioritized protection over actimg like her and fight.'

'If I didn't have left mom alone.'

'IF I HAVE SIMPLY NOT EXISTED!'

A minuscule green flame appeared on top of Sebastian's mouth, the minor light was unnoticeable and the minions kept biting his flesh.

He uttered, very soft.

"If it wasn't me!"

Bfruuumb!

A tornado of fire exploded from that tiny spark, the closest minions instantly evaporated as the greenish demonic fire reduced them evenly into ashes.

A tower of green flames was erupted in just a matter of seconds.

Such abnormality would not pass unnoticed. Those who had eyes looked at the darkness escaping from the light, and those who didn't, felt with their skin how the cold was annihilated by the heat.

But before the feeling was savored by every nerve on the skin, the already weird warm environment dropped its temperature to zero and then down even further to freezing breath.

Like the existence of a black hole, the initial emerald flame absorbed all the escapees.

It was seen, by monsters and humans, how those flames were materialized, starting to create what looked like a human chest.

Observing such an unnatural scene, Molly had no intention to stand still. With her tyrant nature, she immediately ordered both giants and minions to destroy the flame.

"Oh, my lord!"

An old man, between the rows of being sacrificed, contemplated with her only left eyes, the instant death of the monsters who dared to approach the fire.

The monsters that originally were unbeatable.

Now, these subjects were afraid to give another step.

"Heeeeeeeeehh!!!!"

"Heeeeeeeeehh!!!!"

"Heeeeeeeeehh!!!!"

"Heeeeeeeeehh!!!!"

Despite so, they did, they gave the step, because ignoring the orders of their 'queen' would lead to worst consequences than only dead.

The vigorous 'to the load' happened one after another, entering the fire tornado that slowly become smaller and smaller.

Such attackers that see death as home, starting from a slight burn, as they approach the 'eye of the storm', their existence disappears from the world.

The cannon fodder couldn't achieve anything even by the time the absorption of fire ended and the creation of the three meters high jade human was completed.

'What is that?'

Despite its size was still like a child compared to the spear giants, none of the survivors thought that the newcomer was weaker than them, they started to have hope.

'What is this!'

Sebastian, whose consciousness is now split in two, controlled with one of them the glowing marionette.

He observed in detail his new body.

Its appearance was that of armor, but it was not felt any malleable heaviness. It was like a mannequin, but its joints were not restricted but moved freely. It was like a suit, but its hardness could break rocks and stones feeling from his intuition.

All the outer armor had one only color, but as more thick was the surfaces, the green colors were accumulate to appear as black as ink.

Between the medieval and tactical design of accessories, its layers of protection emitted a fluorescence light just like the demonic fire.

The marionette had a face… or maybe it could be called a mask, due to its rigidness and zero motion. Half of its surface was covered by marks of flowers identical to some porcelain decorations. From the first look, it was a face copied from Sebastian, but with time, the ones who know the siblings would notice that it had the appearance of Eva.

And finally, on top of its head, the last portion of the previous fire remained, forming a long cascade of flames. And slowly, these living spirits brought to the world a majestic faint white green crown of inverted horns.

'Why! Why this happened until now!'

The familiar feeling of having hands simultaneously made Sebastian feel the power he didn't have in his own body. He never stood so high to stare at the world and his enemies stopped looking intimidating.

The fire was gone but the light remained suspended in the forest for unknowing reasons.

But since the moment he recovered his vision, he sensed that even without them, he could see perfectly in the dark.

Yet, that was not the only thought put into his head. Being conscious that this current body was only going to exist for a limited amount of time, he…

Attacked!

It blinked.

The closest six-limb giant just blinked once.

And in front of it, the green humanoid appeared as if he had teleported.

The monster actually only saw his legs, because, in the air, the marionette leaned with his elbow almost touching his back.

And punched directly to its head!

BAAAM!

The part of its body that was the farthest to the ground was now kissing the dirt. And its legs ended up pointing up.

The powerful smash shook the earth and its dust. When the scene became clear, there were two huge holes, one empty and the other with half a monster buried in it.

An especially blazing light shined in the mask of the green silhouette, being the center of attention of humans and monsters, his gaze was reserved only for one person.

He raised a finger and slid it from the right to the left of his neck.

She will understand… that I will kill you!
