Destruction and Life.

Something so magnificent,

You can't even look at it."

Earth: Sunday, 7 June 2020

The world was now ending. The so-called safe heaven of humans, where they could live in some harmony and peace, were being obliterated by disasters and supernatural causes. A part of it was their fault, such as climate change, and they had lived a life of ignorance. They knew it coming, but they couldn't just take matters into their own hands; they were selfish and greedy. The rich blinded themselves with material riches while the poor struggled with their necessities. This wasn't a single person's fault, it was everyone's.

"My baby!" The shout of the woman filled with agony took the crowd's attention. "Please, help him. I need him, please!"

She was crying on the ground, with her knees supporting her weight. Her cries had echoed throughout the whole place as they saw the house she was looking at was burning and tearing apart.

"Anybody?" She stood up and looked around the people that were watching. "Please."

Nobody was willing to sacrifice their lives for someone they didn't know. It was a child; what could the child possibly do in this predicament they were experiencing. The scared and unwilling crowd had decided to not do anything, because they were already in so much pain.

"Emily!" A man shouted somewhere in the middle of the crisis. "Run!"

The girl named Emily who left his father's grasp tripped down. The distance between them were about seven meters, and the father ahd tried to come closer, but there was an incoming meteor to her direction.

"No!" cried the man. "Emily!"

Amidst his shouts, he was pulled by somebody before another piece of rock had falled onto the ground. Everybody ran as fast as they could, even if their beloved ones were left to die. The pavements were destroyed, buildings were shattered, and lives were easily given up. The cries of the people were filled with agony, it was almost ear deafening.

The disasters kept coming from all sides and ravaged the whole word. From the west to the east, everything was swallowed up. The glorious and magnificent Earth they had known was nowhere to be found anymore, it was a world filled with hopelessness and misery. However, before the last bang of the calamity took place, a voice from the skies reverberated in their ears.

"Champions of Quintessential: 1st Walk, initiate!"

Then, everything was swallowed by a blinding and mysterious light, in which darkness followed.

Kyle Demeans wasn't your average joe, he was smart, talented, and blessed with amazing features. When he was a child, he was praised for his musical talent. He had the ability of experts, being able to play complex pieces with emotions. Along with his skillful use of instruments, he had a splendid voice that could charm the listeners in just seconds.

At the age of ten, while he attended Saint Bella School, he stood out among everyone. He had good grades, an enormous backing, and a good physique despite being young. He became the role model of many, and of course, also became the envy of almost everyone. Attempting to curry favors, his classmates would befriend him and compliment him in his face, but would slander him behind his back.

Everything was supposed to sail smoothly until a tragedy befell before he could even graduate. On the day of recognition, he was just as nervous as everybody inside the venue; it was filled with students and parents alike. However, when the program had started, his parents were nowhere to be found. He couldn't contact them and there was no news regarding their current state. He dialed more and more, and it was all for naught.

"This day couldn't get any worse," Kyle said. "I hate them."

Currently, there was a storm passing through that day. His imagination ran wild as he thought of possible scenarios that could happen to his parents.

The program started without his parents, and as he went up to the stage, somebody from the entrance interrupted the ceremony. Kyle took the medal and ran as fast as possible to the man at the entrance. His eyes became watery and his legs were starting to limp.

"Young master," the butler said. "Your parents…"

"What happened to my mom and dad?"

"Your parents, they died in a car accident on the way here."

He started crying loudly, unable to get a hold of his emotions. Everyone present at the venue heard this, and some of the children started crying from the news they received. The butler took Kyle in the car and drove back home. Inside the car, George, the name of the butler, told him what actually might have happened to them, that it was somebody's scheme that led his parents to their graves.

The organization left some tracks and George found its name – Bluebird, a hidden faction from the surface of the Earth. The young child was overwhelemed by the events, he didn't know how to properly react and cope at the news of his parents' deaths.

Avenge? He thought. His young and carefree blood started to diminish at a youthful age, and all he could do now is to silently wait for the upcoming plans he's thought of.

Ten years passed, and he's now a renowned person in the business world. He succeeded his position in the company and became the number one in the Forbes' list of billionares. George always had been there guiding him from possible mistakes and missteps he might do.

Despite having wealth, he couldn't find any clues about the organization Bluebird. It was a mystery covered with a thick permanent fog. He had dug so much information in the world to find no leads. He admitted to himself, I wasn't able to do anything. Damn.

While he was driving home, he first-handedly experienced the cruelty of the disasters happening outside his car. Everything was in ruins, and the buildings in the district were shattered. Gone and turned into dusts and rubbles. Everyone was running insanely; they were screaming and screeching.

He was oddly quiet and calm as he looked outside the windows. He was just a spectator in their desperation, but he abruptly saw a man with a blue bird tattoo on his shoulders with dark spikes as shadows inside the bird. It was just like George said, the emblem, he was lost in his thoughts. His mind lost its inner peace as he saw the hooded man enter a mischievous black oval hole that seemed like a portal. He was gone.

His car crashed into something and a humongous rock squashed the car. Kyle was bleeding intensly.

"Is this the end?" I asked to myself. "I was so close, yet so far."

Suddenly, a voice up in the sky was heard by him and a screen in front of his face.

"Champions of Quintessential: 1st walk, initiate!"
