As the Dust Settles (Prolouge)

Hell was not what Moskov expected it to look like, in his childhood he had imagined an endless wall of raging fire that would engulf him, screams of agony of the poor souls who were too far gone to be saved and the sinister laugh of the devil himself as he revels in the torture of the humans he hated so much.

but no, Hell wasn't like that. Moskov's eyes sweeped across the battlefield. Blood, ash and death surrounded him. The uncomfortable silence made his blood run cold despite being already desceased.

This is what hell looked like.

"A job well done" A shrill voice resonated behind him, even without turning he knew who the owner of that voice was, it was the same voice of reason he ever had since that fateful day. Her name was Alice, popularly known as "The Queen of the Apocalypse" a title given to her for her ruthless killings of whoever stood in her way from achieveing her goal, to rise in power above anyone else.

"Did you doubt me?" Moskov asked, his pale purple hair falling to frame his face. he didn't face Alice, didn't feel the need to do so.

"Why of course not, I'm actually surprised at what you did today compared to the past missions i sent you to do" She mused, her tone laced with mockery.

"Are you implying that I'm incompetent?" he asked once again, his eyebrows furrowed at the obvious insult.

"I'm saying that you're..decent. For someone driven by nothing but only one emotion" Alice paused, Moskov heared the flap of her wings as she landed in front of him, showing her pearly whites "But then again, revenge is a very powerful emotion" He scoffed his golden eyes landing on the creature before him. Alice was a fine young magical being, her power driven by blood lust and murder, She looked to be in her mid twenties, she was clad in black by an outfit that seemed to be too fit for her, though her collar gave the impression of a dominant figure. Atop her flowing platinum silver hair were a pair of horns portuding from her temple and coming to bend just delicately at the tip. Her fingers sprouted sleek and sharp claws that could bring anyone to tremble at her feet and finally large black bat-like wings rest on her back.

"A bit vexing" he commented, only a shrill laughter from the Queen could be heard "Hardly, well so much for that. now then i Have another job for you to do my trusted companion"

Moskov's eyes softened, another mission. It was the only thing he ever lived for nowadays, missions from Alice and the burning hatred and feeling of vengeance for The Khan, a ruthless and greedy chief who took everything away from him. But now was not the time to linger in such thoughts, his greatest enemy would have to wait.

"It seems as if i have little bit of competion" Alice paused and raised a finger, pointing to the far east just where the sun rose to a golden glow "Over those hills is a Leader of the Zyron Clan, his name is Eveister"

Moskov suddenly became aware of the nails digging in his palms, reminding him of how hard he was clenching his fist. A clan...he is forced to include himself in a mission to sabotage a clan. His heart ached and he could feel the tendrils of agony wrap his whole being as he remembered dearly how he had failed his own. "I want you to find him and take him to me. ALIVE" she instructed, putting much strain to the last word as she opened her wings and flew away.

as the rays of the sun glowed ever brightly, Moskov could only sigh, he settled himself to sit on a boulder and looked towards the horizon. Someday, he will have peace in his heart but for now there was blood to be shed and sins to be attoned.
