26 Tracing traces (6)

William, who was slammed against the wall, was now dangling in the air with his neck being grabbed.

His face was twisted as he choked in pain.

"I granted your wife's wish to die."

In front of their eyes, the young man's handsome face started to change. He grew taller, his shoulders broaden and his legs became longer, until a man in his mid thirties stand in front of them with deep crimson eyes.

"She was drowning herself in misery when her memories returned. Once she was aware of what she had become and knew her only daughter died, she came to me and pleaded to be killed. I granted her that wish. Aren't I kind enough?"

"I even took a liking of you William. You took care of this child as if he was your son. Your loyalty to the family was deeply appreciated by me. And this is how you repay me? By betrayal?!"

Lawrence clasped his bleeding head and glanced at the man. He was about to move and attack again but the old butler shot him a warning glance.

Despite being strangled like that, he still cared for Lawrence. The man noticed Lawrence and scoff.

"Don't worry, you and this child will have the most painful death before I send you both to the afterlife."

That's what he said but both Lawrence and William were looking at him strangely, as if they did not hear those words.

"Ha!" Did these morons do not understand the situation they are in -?!

The man felt warm blood dripping from his eyes, nose, and ears. When he looked down at his own fingers, he instantly paled.

The young healthy skin wrinkled in a span of seconds. The pale white color became dry and shriveled as if the blood was drained completely.

Unimaginable pain struck him in every part of his body, as if something is pulling off his arms and cutting his legs.

The man did not know what's happening to him, his powers and youth escape from him...

It was as if, the thousand years of time is catching up to his body.

He crumbled to his knees and coughed up dark blood.

The invisible force strangling William was gone and he was slumped back to the ground. Lawrence hurriedly helped him up.

Kevin, who was twitching in the spot stared intensely at the dying figure of the first vampire. Kevin could not move his paws anymore and his back hurt so much. He knew some of his bones were broken.

But pain is nothing to him at the moment. His bright pure eyes twinkled in interest as he stared intensely at the first vampire.

His smart and handsome protagonist won!

The villain is defeated!

Kevin did not understand what killed the villain but he's a goner anyway, so who cares!

Kevin was screaming excitedly in his heart until he felt warm hands lightly touching his chin.

"Nala?" Lawrence's thin voice breaks out. Kevin knew this protagonist of his was deeply worried. He can feel the finger touching his chin gently is trembling.

"Mew~" Kevin wanted to comfort his smart and awesome protagonist.

Such good job! He was able to defeat him with their joint forces.

Now look at the villain, he's now holding onto the last speck of life until his whole body hardened.

Just like the young women who fell victim to the vampires, his body shriveled and aged seventy years, completely unrecognizable compared to his youthful features earlier.

"You - young master.." William lightly said before coughing heavily. Lawrence turned to him.

"Thank you." His voice was so hoarse he could barely speak a word. Despite the deep red line mark on his neck, his smile was so bright it dispelled the heavy atmosphere in the room.

Lawrence smiled lightly, because the smile of the old butler was infectious.

For a few moments, silence permeated the room. Lawrence and William do not have the energy to get up, because moving slightly will also cause their injuries to flare, making them wince in pain.

"How did we kill him by the way?" Lawrence asked in a small voice.

"It was your blood Young Master." The old butler slowly explained.

"The blood of the half breed was poisonous to the pure blood, your older brother's death was proof of that. However, it was not enough to kill the Master of the Manor."

"I didn't know that mixing half breed's blood with the vial would be poisonous to him, it was only when I took the vial with me that I saw my wife's small words written at the bottom of the bottle."

"Mix this with half breed's blood and it will kill the Master', it said."

"Earlier, I was about to get your blood when the Master fully took control of my body, leading you down here." The old butler covered his mouth and coughed heavily. His frail shoulders shook between coughs.

"I'm glad it worked."

Lawrence fell silent. Not far from them, the small bottle was left abandoned. Lawrence squinted hard and indeed, there were some scribbles at the bottom.

It's just that it needs to be put directly in the fire for the writings to appear.

"She's smart." Lawrence can't help but honestly praised.

"She is, indeed." The old butler echoed.

Lawrence evened out his breathing. It was impossible for anyone to come down and help them get out of here. So the most likely scenario is them, getting out this place.

He slowly moved his arms and legs. His head throb in pain, especially at the part that was bleeding but he didn't care. The old butler and Nala needs immediate treatment.

Lawrence gritted his teeth and stood up. But he got dizzy again and slumped against the wall.

"Young master -"

"I'm okay...."

Lawrence removed his shirt and wrapped Nala on it gently. He then bent down and helped the old butler to his feet, putting his left arm on his shoulder.

The trio walked slowly towards the door.
