1 CHAPTER ONE

In the frigid night of the Sahara Desert, a flimsy young female figure laid sprawled across the dunes.

Jiang Ying Yue, who was slowly regaining conscious felt her painful and heavy body; however, she didn't even have time to complain before she sprung up and flopped herself a few meters backwards.

Bang!

The position where she had been before was now sunken in as a massive hole appeared.

Sweating, Jiang Ying Yue gritted her teeth, spitting out the sand that managed to enter her mouth before setting her pair of heavy eyes at the giant golden scorpion that was waving its claws at her.

Feeling that she was about to faint, Jiang Ying Yue hatefully complained to the entity that was happily watching this unfold inside her sea of consciousness.

'Hey, pig-teammate, come out and help me!' Jiang Ying Yue wanted to strangle the fat tabby cat inside her sea of consciousness as she yelled at it.

'My dearest Fairy Jiang, I'm just a cat spirit. Are you trying me make into scorpion food?' The cat licked its paws as it disdainfully asked.

The deathstalker scorpion, having missed its target, was enraged as it struck down again.

Jiang Ying Yue had been keeping an eye on it; she swiftly rolled to the side to avoid the attack.

Clenching her hands, she had the urge to scream from the pain that slashed across her entire body.

Why was passing through space so painful?! (ꐦ°᷄д°᷅)

'You damned ghost, why did you find me a broken body?!' Without checking, one can clearly tell that Jiang Ying Yue's current body was damaged inside-out.

Jiang Ying Yue's eyes watered in frustration, thinking how the first time she crossed time and space and transferred into a body, she'd be in such a pitiful situation.

The tubby laid on its back as it lazily replied in her mind, 'this is my first time doing this as well; you shouldn't blame me. Normally I'm fine when travelling alone it must be because of the bad luck on your body.'

Jiang Ying Yue was rendered speechless; she was so angry she wanted to skin the cat and eat it alive.

'Does it matter if my luck is bad or good?! This grandma is about to become Arachnida food! Save me, damn it!' She didn't have enough energy to move and could only watch the massive golden scorpion pounce towards her.

Shutting her eyes and cursing her white-eyed wolf disciple, and the useless teammate, Jiang Ying Yue, was ready to be torn into pieces and go straight back to Heaven.

-Ding! Detecting our precious customer's life is in danger, activating a low-level defence system.-

The distinct voice appeared, causing Jiang Ying Yue to feel tired in her heart as she watched with dead fish-eyes as a ferocious whisp of lightning that looked like a dragon striking down at the scorpion, obligating it in an instant.

The cat spirit in Jiang Ying Yue's sea of consciousness slightly sat up before whistling, 'look at that; I told you signing up for an immortal soul protection insurance scheme was a good idea.'

Jiang Ying Yue didn't have any heart to talk as she watched several pieces of data information appear before her eyes.

Her eyes slightly flickered to the 'scanning' status for the compensation before slowly closing her eyes and let out a deep sigh.

'We wouldn't have needed it if you did your job properly.'

The cat spirit wasn't offended as it cheekily smiled, 'we should go to the temple and give offerings and pray for good luck.'

Jiang Ying Yue sneered before ignoring it.

Having finished hearing the promise from the insurance guys Jiang Ying Yue could finally breathe a sigh of relief. She felt a warm flow covering her body, healing everything that needed healing.

'See, this is what I call a useful teammate; what do I even need you for?' Jiang Ying Yue muttered to the fat cat spirit in her mind.

The tubby wasn't angry as it shrugged its shoulder, 'if you can find another spirit like me who can help you travel through time and space, please come and complain again.'

Licking its paws, its feline eyes narrowing while commenting, 'you're pretty expensive, a hundred thousand spirit stones just for something like this.'

Jiang Ying Yue rolled her eyes; of course, she's expensive. Does it not know who she is?

Not long later, the treatment was done, and the once half-baked, half-tossed body was instantly revived.

She quickly stood up, jumped up and down a few times, stretched her limps before patting the sand off her body.

Rolling her shoulder blades, she lightly exclaimed, "why the heck was this body in the desert?"

Seeing several dunes covering the landscape and a beautiful expansive sky filled with stars, Jiang Ying Yue paused slightly for a second to admire the beauty.

There was a slight movement beside her, and the scenery slightly distorted before a fat tubby appeared floating beside her.

It purred and glanced at the beautiful desert before a transparent blue screen appeared before it; tapping away at the keyboard, dense amounts of data occurred.

Scanning through it roughly summarised everything up.

"The original owner was thrown down from a helicopter..." The tubby winched as it looked into the sky; it was a miracle how the body hadn't splattered into a paste. "It was because she was suspected of being a spy from an enemy clan...so like...her justice-filled older sister kinda got people to push her off the helicopter."

"Helicopter?" Jiang Ying Yue didn't realise this foreign term and was completely unfazed at the abilities of the tubby.

Sighing, the cat flicked a white light into Jiang Ying Yue's forehead, with all the information of the current world and the situation relating to the previous owner.

Anyways it'll be a waste of saliva to explain to her; it might as well transfer the data over directly.

It took a while for Jiang Ying Yue to digest everything, she felt like her brain had swollen up, and her IQ had risen.

"How interesting!" Jiang Ying Yue exclaimed as she gained knowledge of several different modern structures, technology and science.

The fat tubby rolled its eyes and faintly muttered, "what a country bumkin." (´～ヾ )
