2 special snowflakes

I hate how people older than me tell me my opinion isn't valid

I get told that I don't understand

That I am naive

I don't have the life experiences to handle a situation

…..

Dear people older than me ,

Why do you believe that my opinion isn't valid ?

Is it because I haven't been alive as long as you ?

Do you think I am oblivious to what's going on around me?

IN THIS WORLD?!?!

Even though I am young , I am not stupid.

In this time we are living in everything is on the internet

I'm not saying that everything we see on there is correct

Much of what we see is bias or opinions.

I am told that I don't see what is right in front of me

How could I be so ignorant to not see what others see around me.

When I try to express my opinion I am told I am a " special snowflake "

Just because we have opposing views.

I get confused with being a millennial

what the older generations call those younger and blame things for in the media

I hate to break it to you but im not

I am part of the generation after that

Generation Z

This is probably shocking to some as we keep being lumped together

We Gen z can't wait to see what we will be blamed for in the future

The unfair treatment we will receive due to age as we go into the workforce

The judgement to come from growing up in a different time.

The world is a different place than it was yesterday ,and it will be different tomorrow

Time will not stop for us as it didn't stop for you

Time will go on as always

That's how we got here to this point.

I have to ask you the people born before me

Have you all forgotten that at one point you were like us.

Eager to change the world and make an impact?

I feel like so many people have

As we all get older we get set in our ways and stop becoming open to new ideas

Because they aren't OUR ideas but others.

Growing up didn't you have thoughts and opinions you wished to share?

Even if you don't admit it I know the answer is yes.

If you didn't we wouldn't have what we have now.

The way and time it was shared may be different to how we do it now

But it still happened and that's what matters.

So I ask you all

The ones with more life expense

The ones who understand

The ones who may call me naive

Please open your minds to us.

Please don't shut us down

Explain to us what and why you believe what you do.

Tell us your life stories as we are still writing ours.

Help us make better choices than the ones you made

Help so we don't make regrets

Start a conversation with us

Guide us.

Get to know us.

We have been growing up and looking up to you

Your accomplishments along with failures.

We understand more than you know.

We have opinions and words to say because theses problems resonate with us

These issues are affecting us and will be also in the future

We wish to have a voice

Explain our view as the next generation that will make in impact

As we are now we are still up incoming ,but we will one day become like you

A person with experience

Please don't look at us as kids who know nothing

But the future leaders of the world

Who have big dreams and aspirations we wish to accomplish.

So please stop saying we don't understand or we are naive

We are simply building experience
