91 Nursery rhymes are creepy

If you ever really think about the lyrics and the time period they were created. You will realize that all nursery rhymes are really creepy.

In the London Bridge is falling down nursery rhyme they go on to talk about the bridge obviously falling but do you know the origin of the song? Well just in case you don't it was created when the London bridge was being made and at the time being they believe that human sacrifices were necessary to keep the bridge up.

Ring around the roses. This nursery rhyme goes on to tell the story of the Black Plague.

Mary , Mary quite contrary refers to bloody Mary one of the queens of England. In the nursery rhyme it goes on to talk of Silver bells, cockleshells, and a pretty Maden. These are all references to torture devices and the guillotine that she used to behead people.

Rock-a-bye baby came from native Americans. They would have cradles hanging from a tree branch and when the wind would blow it would rock the baby to sleep. If you go on to think about the rest of the run you will realize that it is talking about the murder of babies.

There are more I could reference but those are the only ones I could think of at the moment.

But I really have to question why on earth have people been telling these to children
