123 Get out...Maybe?

Drip,

Drop.

Drip,

Drop.

Drip,

Drop.

The pitter-patter of falling water coming from the pipes above is heard throughout the slimy moist concrete imprisonment. Hanging from overhead are water pipes that run into the ground, and a single string light that dimly illuminates the center of the room. The light from the center fades into the background incasing the rest of the space in black. Puddles are scattered throughout the room giving little relief for those who reside inside.

In opposite corners of the room that serves as imprisonment are two men. Both men are contained to a small portion of the room where they are chained at the ankle to nearby pipes that run into the concrete below. With them both being tired, messy, and dirty at first glance it can be hard to tell the small difference in appearance between the two.

In one corner holds a man in his late twenties with messy jet black hair and chocolate brown eyes wearing a once fitted black suit. During his containment, the man had lost some weight giving the clothing a baggy appearance. What was once a pristine white shirt is now filled with stains of various substances and bodily fluids. His suit pants are now tattered and ripped and the matching jacket is nowhere to be seen. The shoes on his feet look expensive but thoroughly scuffed up. The once prominent man has been left into nothing but a shadow of his former self.

The other man was elderly looking to be in his early to mid-sixties with graying black hair and pale hazel eyes. He is wearing a dark red threadbare flannel button-down shirt covered in mud, dirt, and a variety of other things. His jeans are faded with holes in the pockets, and the hem of the pants' legs have fallen out. His shoes are tattered and holey with the sole falling off. Overall he looked worn down.

Even with their massive differences in lifestyles they had both managed to get themselves imprisoned with one another. At the beginning of their time together they had tried to talk with one another and find a way out, but they decide later on it would be best to save their strength for whatever is in store for them later.

While talking they had found out each other's names and their professions. The younger of the two being Sam Jackson, a businessman who works for his fathers' company. When speaking he was vehement about what he planned to do when he got out of there, and what he was going to do about it. After a while, Sam started to sound anxious about if they were ever going to get out in the first place.

On the other hand, the elderly man Adam Lorenz, a retired Navy veteran who had been looking for work when he was taken, spoke softly and tried to give the younger man encouragement about their predicament. He was kind, doing his best to put Sams' needs before his claiming that sam had more to live for. That he would do his best to help him get out of here.

It makes one wonder how did individuals so different from one another get into this situation, and even more importantly how will they ever get out?
