Why do people's eyes feel itchy when eyes are just made out of water protein and jelly?

So how do we feel them itch?

From what I looked up your eyes don't really have nerves

Because if you think about it your ass would always be in pain due to your eyelids blinking over them so it makes sense in a way

So how do we feel things in our eyes?
