3 Age of Adult: Age 18

At what point do you grow up

Is it when you are out of school

When you have a child

Move away from your parents

Or is it an age

What makes the age 18 that of an adult

Is it the ability to vote

The ability to sign your own papers

The ability to live on your own

What is it about these abilities makes you an adult

At the age of 25 your physically mature

Your brain is fully developed

You have most likely finished your education

Have a stable job

And a home

Those are the things most people wish to achieve as an adult

But it takes so long to achieve

Why should we burden those still wanting to gain experience of an adult with no experience learning how to act as one

Why not an age between adult and teen

We have them for other ages

Baby to toddler

Toddler to child

Child to tween

Tween to teen

Teen to adult

Between those age categories we have learned what we must

But to become an adult we must reach an age that isn't even a third of our life expectancy

Up to that point we have just finished highschool not knowing where college or our other plans will take us

We can vote but we cant drink

We can have a car but the insurance is still very high due to our brains not being mature enough

What is it about the age 18 that makes us an adult
