Prologue : It's too late

"who.. are you?" a teenager who's about 17 years old said weakly to the guy whose face he can't see because of the hood the guy 's wearing. It's nighttime and they're at the alleyways , the only light they have are the ones at the corner of the streets which can't even reach them. The teenager was beaten to nearly death by the gangs around the area , if he didn't escape in their pursuit , he's most likely die in their hands.

It is raining heavily and the blood in his injuries are being cleanse tho there are still flesh coming from it from time to time. Even his face aren't recognizable from the bruises he got but still, a guy suddenly appear out of nowhere and told him some absurd things, saying he'll going to buy his body. It creep him out when he heard it and instinctively covered his injured body using his arms and answered that he's not into BL.

Of course it's just a misunderstanding in his part because the guy said , "your life is almost ending, why don't you let me took over your body in exchange of something you want? Though , I can only promise to give your family some wealth"

At first he didn't understand it and the guy seems like a scamming him for saying something beyond imagination. He's not fund of supernaturals nor paranormals and being told something like that , he just stared at the guy who's ignoring the rain and just facing him. He laughed but he coughed some blood and he stopped. And the guy then said "If you don't want to have a deal with me, I can just wait for your death and took over your body, that way , i don't have to pay and you'll just making a loss in your part."

He became silent and thought about it, is he really going to die ? He smiled like an idiot and his mind replays the memories he had till now but remembering it , he become sad because.. the life he lived are beyond forgiveness , he's a wastrel in his family , a worthless person in the society and ...sigh. If he really die at this rate, then why not try to compromise to this shady guy ? at least, even if he's scamming him , he can quench a little of his guilt.

"i .. don't want money... I only want to make my family... be proud of me.. will you promise me that.. if i die.. and you take my body as your own.. can you ...at least do .. i mean.. please do! give this body of mine a chance to correct... my mistakes.."

The guy also turned silent , looking at the teenage boy who's looking at him with expectation , he nodded and the boy smiled in difficulty and his breathing slowly dissipates..

"ugh..." Rei woke up from the noise he heard around him, he slowly open his eyes and saw a white ceiling that he doesn't recognize, looking from his left side, there are 5 person there. A man who's about 50 years of age with some white hair due to age are fighting verbally to a woman who's skinny enough to show the bones in her cheeks, even her complexion is pale and she's likely to haven't eaten for some days.

The other three are mediating the two, a middle aged man wearing a white coat and glasses , seems to be a doctor and one is a nurse carrying something like a report sheet and a girl who's about 15 years old stopping the two from bickering.

I'm in the hospital.. ha.. a private room at that? Rei thought because when he survey the room, he's the only patient inside. The scent of medicines made him frowned his brows. I really hate the smell of the hospital...but why am i here? he said to himself . He look at his other side and there is a machine recording his heart rate and some medicinal fluid that was injected in his body.

He turned his gaze to the 5 person who still have't notice him. What are they talking about? he asked himself and listened to the two who's bickering.

"It's been a month and he hasn't wake up! he's wasting money staying here. Let's just take him home and if he die that's better! at least he's not wasting anymore money!" The man said , glaring at the woman whose eyes are already red.

"Is that how you treat your son!?"

"Son? I don't have a son who's a bad luck ! Making him live is just a waste of money!"

"Money is all that you think! That's why he never listen to you because you treat him this way! He's still your son!"

"Haha , what a funny thing to say. All of us know that he's not my son. You're already pregnant when I married you. So what if he died ? I don't have any relationship with him!"

"y-you...!" The woman already burst into tears and Rei felt a prick on his heart seeing it. What's this feeling.. I hate it, he frowned and glared at the man. He then notice that the girl who's mediating the two awhile ago are looking at him in surprise as she instinctively pulled the hem of the womans cloth.

"What it is Ren..?" The woman said weakly between her sobs. Seeing that her daughter aren't answering and just staring somewhere, she also take a look and saw her son frowning while looking at their direction, she felt happiness in her heart, forgetting the feud that happened awhile ago because her son woke up.

Rei notice that the woman who's still have flowing tears but now she seems happy are going to his direction, he ask "who are you ?"

The woman was stunned in what she heard but looking at Rei who's still frowning while looking at her like she's some stranger , she hurriedly answered "w-what are you saying Ken ? it's m-me your mom, d-don't joke around okay?"

"ah..? " Rei who's looking at the woman who's stuttering and the sadness she's feeling are evident , he felt the pricking of his heart again. What the hell is this? Argh!.. I really hate this feeling...but she's my mom ? she doesn't look like she's lying... and Ken.. who's that?

"I-it's me..y-your mom , Karen. okay ? s-son. you remember m-mom.. right?" The woman said like she's begging him to remember her but Rei who's mind still chaotic just stared at her, and then he heard a sneered coming from the man who's fighting the woman awhile ago.

"tch, why did you even wake up and now you're having an amnesia ? Is this a joke." The man just glared at him and the 3 other person was still in a daze , if not for the woman shouted at the doctor to look at Rei , the doctor will still stare at them blankly.

"What are you doing doc! please take a look at my son! why did he forgot about me?!"

"ah ri-right" The doctor hurriedly explained that it might be because of the injury he got in his head and it'll take awhile for him to remember. The doctor and the nurse then excuse themselves when the woman was crying her heart out, blaming herself to what happened to her son.

"tch! Ren, leave your mother, let's go home" The man said to the girl who's comforting her mother and wanted to remain at her side when the man shouted at her "go home this instant!"

The girl reluctantly leave her mother's side and didn't dare to look at her father who's glaring at Rei but Rei ignore it because he's still thinking about what happened. It's been 5 minutes and the woman who's crying also stopped but she remained lifeless in the chair beside the bed.

"How many days have I stayed in here and why am i here?" Rei ask, breaking the silence. The woman answered weakly .."It's been a month since your here.. your elder sister .. found you lying on the the street and immediately called an ambulance, if not for your ID's , they wouldn't know it's you.." she started to sob again when she remember the state of her son when he's beaten.

Rei then remember what happened ... He was searching for a body to take over because the body he used are already quite old and if he can't take over someone else's body, he'll die and he'll be reborn in a baby's body and it'll take time for him to remember his memories. Not wanting to wait some years to grow to an adult, he always chooses to merge to someone who's about to die but of course he should have consent of the owner's body.

He then smelled a familiar scent and it lead him to the boy who's injured and his life force is dissipating every second. He propose to merge his body to him in exchange for his request , and that is to correct his wrongs and make his family be proud of him.

Sigh.. I'll make sure to make this body of yours be known by everyone and let the world be proud of you!
