Progress was painfully slow for Wind. Even after trying for several days to paint he just couldn't seem to get the hang of it.

"Is painting just too hard for me? What's the point in even having a system if I can't do anything with it." Wind said to the unlistening room. Deep inside though Wind knew he was wrong, he just couldn't get the hang of painting.

His bed was unmade, his holo-monitor still black, he'd never bother to fix it.

<Quest Gained: Repair computer>

Description: An idiot can't even figure out how to paint. Think like DaVinci dummy (ง'̀-'́)ง. Repair your darn monitor and then maybe you'll be able to give me some precious knowledge.

Reward: Painting for Dummies by Your Lord and Savior System Father

Wind scratched his head at this quest, it seemed like to gain anything from this system he would have to make the quest himself more less. But this quest posed a problem.

The most important thing was analyzing the problem first, since Wind had no idea what happened to the monitor he would have to go into the physical machine. He looked at the inert monitor.

He went over to it to take a better look. There was clearly nothing wrong with it on the outside. The little knobs and buttons that he was used to pushing seemed to make a cruel smile as they laughed at his inadequacy.

On the back of the holo-monitor was a panel that was used for manual repairs. It had several buttons on it that would activate small repair bots to repair parts of the system, the problem was he had to understand what the problem was.

He thought and he thought and he thought a little bit more, fifteen minutes had passed and he still couldn't figure out where the problem was. Maybe the processor? Maybe the projector? But he didn't know if the AI in his system were powerful enough to fix a problem like that as they were usually used for simpler fixes.

But he had no idea how to fix it himself.

"Maybe I should restart it? He had read somewhere in an ancient book that turning it off and on fixed machines."

He pressed the big red button on the left of the holo-monitor to turn it off and pressed it again to turn it back on. Soon enough the image of Planet Glacial in the Zorbtrax system appeared.

<Quest completed!>

Description: Maybe idiots should try and turn it off again.

Reward obtained.

After about a second a bright light resounded in the center of Winds room. Each individual ray seemed to baptize the innocent furniture. The light forced Wind to close his eyes, it was too colorful, to bright, he couldn't deal with it.

After a second it was gone and hopefully forever but Wind had a feeling that he would be seeing that light a lot more. In the place of the white light was a large book with so many pages it looked like a small mountain had been piled in the middle of Winds room.

On the cover of the book was a little cloud smiling and laughing.

"Is this you system?" Wind laughed. This system of his really did have quite the imagination.

<Of course it is! Don't I look adorable, now start painting ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ>

Wind let out a soft chuckle. He started to read. He had never read a book like "Painting for Dummies" Each page seemed to speak to him in a different way. The book just made him want to paint, to let it all out on the canvas of his life.

The notification went off in his head but he wasn't hearing it. Something clicked, an idea seeped into his head, he had so many thoughts, and each one was so different. The dry landscape of his thoughts had suddenly obtained color.

Wind stared toward the canvas, there seemed to be so much to do on it. He started to paint, a little splash of yellow that looked like his Aunt's summer dresses, a little swirl of blue the exact same kind his father loved to have suits made out of. As soon as he opened one thing of paint another was already being unscrewed

Wind had finally made a painting he was happy about. Instead of just painting "trees" he was now painting people. The brush strokes were crude, the colors were harsh, but there was love put into it. It was his sister in her familiar crimson dress, the same dress on that day. He shoved it into the back of his memory, it was the best thing he had ever created and he was proud of it.

With his painting done for the day he turned his attention to the now working computer. He hadn't seen any news for days now and he wanted to know what was happening. After the incident, he knew that knowledge was the greatest power for anyone, even what he apparently was now a painter.

The first couple of sites showed nothing, a cultivator had created a new line of mechs, a wizard had made a new set of enchantments, nothing new. It was on the fourth news site he looked at, a news site for the Federation.

War had come.
