The Introduction

O N E

My small feet carried me through the forest as I slowly runaway from the guards, my laughter filled the quiet forest. I glance around to see if I can see any of the guards, but there were none. I smiled as I made my way deeper into the woods. The sun shines through the peeks of the forest. The deeper my small feet carried me through the forest the more I realized the once beautiful trees turned into old and wrecked trees.

That's when I felt it, I was no longer in my territory, I was in no man's land. My brown eyes glanced around as tears start to stream down my red face from all the running. My heart started to beat faster and it felt like it wanted to jump out of my chest and runaway from the darkness that started to spread around the forest.

"Daddy." My screams echo through the quiet forest. No movement. Silence.

There were no birds chirping around me, no wind blowing, no sound, no one. My hands started to get sweaty as I walk slowly around the area. My eyes darted around the area again, walking past the bushes. I didn't notice the wolf who was hiding behind, ready to attack me when I least except it.

That's when I heard it, the rustle from the bushes as the wolf, twice my size, jumped out ready to attack me. My shocked eyes widen as I stumble back on the ground when my feet got caught in a trap.

My back hurt from the impact, he started to make his way slowly to me. I could notice that his body was thinner than any other werewolf I have ever seen. As he neared me I open my mouth and screamed as loudly as I can, in the hope that someone out there will be able to hear me. When he lunged at me, I closed my eyes tight waiting for the pain, but then I heard nothing. That's when I heard a 'thumb'.

I open my eyes, only to stare at the wolf lying down on the floor. My eyes glance at a man, who saved my life. His back was towards me, his clothes looked unfamiliar to me, he wore a black jacket that went all the way down to his knees. His whole outfit was black, it was depressing.

He turned to me with red eyes, his pale face was vise able under the sun. His black hair was long and reached down his back. His full body turned to me, his red eyes held concern in them as he stare down at me. His outstretch hand made me shiver from fear, he notices it and made a sound in the back of his throat.

"I'm not going to hurt you princess." His voice was cold but his eyes held so much warmth. My hands stretch out to his hands, as he pulls me up to my feet, my body trembling.

"I will always protect you Princess." My brown eyes stare at the red eyes of the vampire. A kind that was dangerous and considered as an enemy against our kind, we hated them. Before I could say anything, he vanished, just when my guards came storming out of the bushes, their eyes widen at the sight that greeted them.

My eyes turn to the forest, where he just vanished into. I didn't even hear the guard who was standing in front of me, asking questions, my only worry was who he was and what did he mean by he will always protect me, when I'm the kind he needed to kill.

I blink a few times.

My breathe come out breathless, as I try to breathe in and out. My chest was starting to tighten so much that I thought I will past out from having no air in my lungs.

I stood clenching my chest, as my whole upper body starts to tighten more, I couldn't get air in my body. Is this how I'm going to die? Because let me tell you I don't want my people to know how their Queen to be left them in this beautiful place. Dying such a cruel death, maybe my father will tells them I died in the middle of a battle trying to save a child in danger. I died a hero.

"Can you stop making those noises, you are a lady. Not a dog." My mother, the queen, says sharply at me from the couch she was sitting on. Reading through a book, I turn my head towards her with a glare.

"By the way we are dogs." I snap at her as she rolls her eyes at me, my eyes narrow at her behavior. "Stop being so dramatic daughter." She says as she doesn't even lift her eyes up to me. Still looking through the book, I couldn't see the cover of the book, but I know it was fifty shades of grey.

This woman was so kinky, my poor father, what did he see in her when he married her? My poor innocent father.

"Well mother, you aren't dying here. I am." I snapped again, my anger getting the best of me. I was known for my anger issues, I got that from my father.

"Oh please stop saying that. You aren't dying, you're pretty much alive" she looks up at me with a raised eyebrow and looks me up and down. "And talking to me." I growl under my breathe, as my chest tightens more.

"I'm so sorry Princess." The woman behind me says slowly. But she didn't sound sorry at all, I turn my angry eyes towards her and smile sweetly at her, I would have love to rather strangle her not smile at her. That's when my eyes dart to her outfit, her boobs were big, and the way the outfit pressed against her body made it look even bigger.

I turned around away from her, jealousy seeping through my vines.

"Well if you had bigger boobs, we wouldn't have had this problem." I fist my hands into the dress, and glare at my mother through the mirror as her reflection showed her smile towards me, was she taunting me this old woman.

"My boobs aren't the problem." I growl under my breathe, so what if my boobs were smaller than everyone else's. I mean what matters is what is inside not outside. "And by the way, the dress doesn't need to be this tight mother." I growl out again, as they tighten the dress around my upper body.

"Leave us." my mother says loudly to all the woman busy helping to make the dress look more stunning. I glance up at her as she stands next to me, she puts her hands on my shoulder and twist my body so I could face her, I look into her eyes and I saw adoration.

"I know its hard sweetheart, but this ball is celebrating your birthday and allot of people are celebrating the thought of you becoming the queen next month." She says as she pats my hair.

"I know mother but can we just celebrate with a few people? Why the hell do we need to invite the whole country?" I say tiredly. She looks at me with sad eyes.

"I know sweetheart, but it's not every day our first princess will turn twenty-one." She smiles softly at me as she squeezes my shoulder, her eyes scheme over my body. "Why do you look so tired? Have you been getting any sleep these days?" she asked worried, I shake my head at her. "Is it that dream again?"

"I still sometimes wonder who he was or what he meant by those words." I say loudly voicing my concerns about the vampire that saved my life from that rouge. My mother's eyes turn into anger.

"Those creatures are created by the devil. Don't think about it again and don't look for answers. You are becoming queen soon, so stop worrying about such a thing." My mother's voice turn cold, but I couldn't just stop thinking of it. She might be angry at the thought of a vampire saving me, but my 7 year old self thought he was a hero, and if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be standing here, trying on dresses.

Maybe I wanted to know why he saved me or rather what he meant by he will always protect me.

Why did he save the soon to be queen of werewolves?
