3 A dinner (with a handsome man)

So far her dinner with John Johnson went well. They talked about their businesses and about their favourite food.

"Miss Morgan you are a very interesting person. Your knowledge of the Asian and French cuisine is really formidable. I really like to talk more with you."

"You flatter me. I just tried a lot of food and worked since I was young in all different kinds of kitchen. That's all."

"You went through a lot I can see that."

"Hmm yeah."

"Miss Morgan I've decided. Please let me officially date you. You are so wonderful I would be happy to have you as my girlfriend." He looked at Eira hopefully waiting for her answer.

"Mr. Johnson you seem to be a nice man but I don't really know you. Right now I don't have time to date. I'm sorry." Eira firmly looked into his eyes and rejected him. When she spoke her last word she could see the hopeful expression in his eyes change to disappointment. His eyes dropped and he let his head hang low. She pitied him seeing this rejected and tried to cheer him up.

"Mr. Johnson don't be sad. A fine man like you will surely find a lovely girl. Don't waste your time and efforts on me."

After hearing her say that he looked at her with puppy eyes.

"But I don't want to look for someone else when I already found the perfect woman for me."

"Mr. Johnson don't make it harder for me than it already is. I really can't be your girlfriend. Besides we know not much about each other."

"But we could get to know each other."

Arguing with John Johnson is a tiring thing. He would always find a reason to retaliate.

"We could but I don't want that. If you excuse me it's already late. I will go now. Thank you for the meal." Eira frustrately gave up and tried to escape from this rather... clingy man.

She quickly walked out of the restaurant and to her car. Before she could reach it a hand grabbed her wrist and held her back.

"Miss Morgan let me at least drive you home. It's already late. You shouldn't go home alone at this time."

"If I let you drive me home, do you promise me not to ask me to be your girlfriend again?"

John Johnson hesitated after hearing her asking that. But he soon made up his mind.

She doesn't want him to ask her to be his girlfriend but he still could woo her until she would fall in love with him. Then she herself would want to be his girlfriend. With that in mind he agreed.

"Okay you can drive me home. That one over there is my car." She gave him her car keys and walked to the passenger seat.

As promised John drove her home. He parked her car in the garage next to her house and went out.

"Should I call you a cab to drive you home?" Eira asked.

"No there is no need. I already called my driver to pick me up. You should go in. It's cold."

"Thank you for everything today. Have a safe trip home."

Hearing Eira speaking her parting words so softly John smiled. He had the urge to...

but he held himself back and instead hugged her tightly.

"Have a good night. I'll see you again." And with that he finally left.

Eira turned around and entered her house. She walked past the living room and saw some lights in the kitchen. She smiled softly and walked to it.

"Dad, why are you still up?"

Old Morgan turned around and smiled awkwardly at his daughter.

"I wanted to test some things out. I had some inspirations and couldn't wait any longer."

"You know that you should relax more right? You worked enough. Just relaaaaaax." Eira spread her hands slowly out like she was soothing the air.

"Alright I finish this up soon and go to sleep. You should rest too my dear."

"Yep I will. Night Dad."

"Sleep tight darling."

Eira walked to her room and prepared to go to sleep. Before she actually went to bed, she once again checked her mails. There she saw a new one just arrive.

She clicked it open and instantly fumed in anger.

"Who does he think he is? He is now apologizing for not coming? Now!!! Why not already earlier? Enough is enough. I don't need him."

Angrily she shut her computer down and went to sleep.

She tossed and turned but couldn't sleep until morning already dawned, then she was finally able to fall to sleep.

But her sleep didn't last long then soon her alarm woke her up. Annoyed she tried to turn it off but then her phone also started to ring.

"Ugh why don't they let me sleep for just a second. I'm a CEO, a tycoon, goddammit. I let others work for me."

She stood up turned her alarm off and walked to grab her phone.

Her secretary Helen was calling her.

"Yeah?" She answered it.

"Miss Morgan I am so sorry for calling you so soon but I just arrived notice that Mister Henning is coming at 9 o'clock. I am so sorry it's so sudden but I didn't have a chance to negotiate the time again."

Eira took a deep deep breath.

"What exactly happened?"

"Well Mr. Henning's secretary called me and told me that Mr. Henning wished to meet you today because he couldn't meet you yesterday but his schedule is very tight so he will come by at 9 o'clock. Then he immediately ended the call. I'm trying to reach him but he is not answering his phone." At the end of her explanation Helen almost cried out in desperation. It was clear that she did everything she could but had to give up.

She knew that that kind of unplanned meetings were something Eira despites the most. And more she feared that Eira would think she wasn't capable of solving such trivial matters.

Eira could hear fear in Helen's voice so she calmly instructed her.

"Helen listen. I just woke up. If I go now I could make it on time. If you could be so kind to get all the documents ready and get me something to eat then everything is fine. Prepare all that and wait for me. If Mr. Henning arrives just let him wait for me. I'll see you later."

"Okay I will prepare everything don't worry. I'll see you later then."

With that their phone call ended.

Eira immediately ran to her bathroom and made herself ready. She put on her clothes, grabbed her bag and ran down the stairs past the living room and outside to her car.

Her father was just watering the plants when he saw her running to the garage.

"Eira where are you going? Won't you eat breakfast?"

"Nope I can't. I'll eat later. Have to teach a bastard a lesson now. Bye dad."

Before her father could even answer she was ready in her car and immediately sped off on the street.

Eira arrived 15 minutes before the meeting and hurriedly walked to her desk.

She grabbed all the documents she needed and saw that Helen had bought her an egg sandwich which she absolutely loved and her favorite milk latte. She opened the wrapping paper of the sandwich and gobbled it down.

With a quick look at her watch she saw that she had more then ten minutes. So she decided to give herself five minutes to enjoy her sandwich and take her latte with her to the meeting.

She finished eating and walked resolutely out of her office down to the meeting room.
