14 The Power to Defy Reality

Half an hour later after the Synchronization of the Reality Halo.

"Hosua!" Yoo Hana went to the ground floor only to find that her 24 hour store had been closed. "Any reason why our 24 hour store has been closed!?"

"I can explain!" Hosua raised her finger, only to retract it. "I can't explain!?

"Why are my stuff within the trash bags!??"

"I can explain!"

"Why are you eating bread while I'm talking to you!??"

"I can explwain!"

Yoo Hana wanted to punish Hosua for doing such a thing abruptly, she thought, but because Hosua had already been wearing the bunny-girl suit that she had already prepared for this occasion, so Hana spared the punishment for another occasion.

Both of their minds were cloudy, no matter how hard they tried to think of what they had been doing to warrant themselves until the afternoon.

"Mr. Trevor didn't have any shift today?" said Hosua with her usual monotone expression as she restocked the store shelves. "I don't have anybody to bully when he isn't here."

She was still wearing the bunny-girl suit.

"He messaged me that he sprained his ankle, so we will be reducing his monthly wage~" said the manager of the store on the cashier counter with her eyes looking into the distance, unsure of what was truly happening to her conscience and body.

Hosua nodded after acknowledging her owner's message. 'Translation: I got him some new gigs, so he won't be coming up to the store for a while.'

"Hosua, did you see me consuming any kind of substance today?"

"I can assure you that I haven't, Manager Hana."

"My head felt incredibly light today." Yoo Hana pressed her thumb against the side of her head. "Though, it felt quite relaxing at the same time."

"I feel like I'm also currently in a slightly similar state…"

"I can't fully recall most of what I'm doing today…"

"Me too…"

"Silly Hosua~" Yoo Hana flapped her hand. "As much as I wanted you to be another human, you're still an android in the literal sense."

"I'm not fully android, though."

"Huh?"

"A??"

"Is this just me, but did you always have that glowing high-tech Halo as an accessory?"

"Now that you mentioned it, since when did I have this cool looking thing above me??"

"We did have some kind of hover-tech for a small-sized object, but I didn't think about using it as a neat little fashion factor like that." Yoo Hana smirked as she stroked her chin, "Not gonna lie, it really fit you, Hosua."

"Why, because I'm your little angel?" said Hosua with an indifferent face.

"Precisely~!"

"A… Look, Manager Hana!" Hosua's eyes suddenly gleamed with light. "It is following me everywhere!"

"What are you, a kid?"

For another half hour, both of their state of minds became even more and more clouded. Yet at the same time, they felt like every burden and stress that was massively piling up on each corner of their shoulders began to disappear.

Their ways of thinking would soon reach that level of a happy-go-lucky childs, They threw jokes at each other and laughed at one another. They dance and feast upon the packaged food in the storage meant for the store without any care in the world.

Until they snapped back into sense, and both of them fell on their knees after the realization of what they had done.

"It is the Reality Halo…"

One hour before this moment, both Hosua and Yoo Hana were engulfed by the radiant light emitted by the Halo.

When that happened, both of them were in a state of bliss due to the huge sense of achievement after putting their complicated theories into practical use.

Within the timeframe of that blissful state, they both realized how much this project exhausted their mind.

'Ah~! I'm finally able to rest my brain after all of that laborious research~' Yoo Hana thought. 'But I need to waste no time, for the impending doom of humanity is reaching its peak of containment., and there is nobody except me and Hosua who can do anything about it.'

'A, at last, I can rest my head and soul after turning myself into a literal super computer with a ten to the power of billions calculation at the same time~' Hosua thought. 'But there is no time to rest, we are 12 hours left into the impending doom, and I need to get my game straight and work with Yoo Hana to do whatever this selfish burden that Lothair person gave me from the future~'

'If only I can rest for 1 hour.'

'If only I forget everything that exhaust me mentally so far, at least for one hour.'

"I see…" Yoo Hana began with a contained giggle, which would erupt into a maniacal laughter that filled the whole storage room. "It worked! The script is working! The Halo is bending the conceptual factor of reality!"

She then began to do a happy dance, some kind of ritual or sort.

"Still." Hosua stood up, trying to analyze if there was any change in her body. "I still couldn't believe that your prediction about the synchronization of foreign devices really works, much less creating one that works!"

"Well, it's not actually working, per say." Yoo Hana leaned against both of her hands that were pressed anchoring the floor behind her. "The thing that we made is more of a desperate attempt to create the real product. The Halo is merely a culmination of mashed up theories about the manipulation of reality, and both of us are only second guessing on how the Etherbrain would react if it was met with another set of extensions for it to use.

"Just like how it's able to use Gate Stabilizer that you crafted, but the thing is, you already know that the GS is part of the TITER, and because we didn't know what kind of codes of program that's already within the Etherbrain, all we can do is to guess and trigger a forceful synchronization~"

"And it works!" Hosua stretched both of her hands to the ceiling with excitement. "The Etherbrain managed to detect the extension!"

"But we don't really know much of the extension that we created, much less operate it to how it is intended within the Etherbrain's database." Yoo Hana smirked.

"The Etherbrain talked when the synchronization happened. It mentioned - Integrated System: Reducer Halo, in a very cute voice too." Hosua pointed up her index finger.

"Fufufu, I guess we have come to my favorite part of the project."

"And that will be?"

"The testing!"

In just an half hour, the storage room has been renovated into that of a testing range. There was an area made for ballistic purposes, and a space where it consisted of a long single iron table and numerous apparatus one could usually see within a lab. All of them were mostly created by the Partial Divinity

"This iron cube over here." Yoo Hana prodded the cube on a metal table, all while strapped with some sort of hazmat suit for full protection in contingency if the usage of the Halo would result in any kind of harmful radiation. "Try changing the property of its weight."

Hosua tried to pinpoint the iron cube as a subject for the victim of the Halo using her mind. It took her around 34 seconds before the Halo was activated.

"I have reduced its weight by 60%, as it's stated by the Etherbrain audibly."

"So the Etherbrain doesn't measure the weight of its numerical unit?" Yoo Hana grabbed the cube and played with it in her hand, she noticed the exact drop of weight difference from what had been stated.

"Even with the time the Halo messes with our mind, it's measured in percentage."

"Return the weight to normal."

"Affirmative."

"Also, try adding the computation power of your mechanical vessel."

It was within the halo project that they have found out that it is possible to use one side of the overlapping reality of the vessel respectively. Ever since, Hosua would only use her machine side of her if the situation demands it.

For example, 100% of the time when they are working on the Halo.

'And I have just got my blissful feeling of letting my head feel the lightness of zero computation…'

In just an instant, she was able to input the cube as the subject of the target

Yoo Hana immediately felt the change with the cube on her hand.

"Can you increase the weigh instead?"

Hosua tried to put her mind into. "Apparently, it's not possible."

"I see, so it's only possible to reduce, just like the name of the integrated system." Yoo Hana stared at the iron cube. "Can you reduce the weight into zero?"

"... Apparently, it's not possible."

"Turn the weight to half, then."

"Will do."

"And then make the weight loss to a quarter of its original value."

[Weight of the subject: 50% -> 75%]

"Now, change the 'mass' to 1%"

Yoo Hana began to tighten her grip.

The cube was crushed under the pressure of her clutch.

"Revert everything to normal."

[Returning Weight of the subject to normal: 75% -> 100%]

[Returning Weight of the subject to normal: 1% -> 100%]

The weight returned on Yoo Hana's clutch.

She then poured the debris of the cube onto a scale.

"The same weight."

"Isn't this Halo amazing??" Hosua's eyes could be seen sparkling, despite that there were no other facial changes on her expression, she would probably wag her tail left and right if she had one.

"We'll see if it's truly amazing or not." Yoo Hana pulled out a black box case from the bellow of the table. She then opened it, revealing a WA2000 sniper rifle. "As we test the Halo's reality defying property~!"
