Moon Empress

With a silent gasp his words continued to echoed in her mind. Her eyes still glued to the game hand stretched out to her. Her mind spinning with confusion.

Why? Why was it him? The emperor. He had not made any attempts of meeting her before the ceremony the first time. Yet here he was. Eyes glued on his hand. She let out a small gasp as she lost control in her breathing during the confusion. Her fingertips feeling numb as they froze over.

"Is her highness feeling ill?" The emperor questioned her softly his hand retreating slowly. As he glanced once more at her pale expression and took in her shallow breaths. His eyes widening silently as he felt the air around her turn cold. Her body radiated cold hair as he watched her hands grow stiff.

With a deep thought gaze, he glanced from the corner of his eyes to the row of servants lined up on the side to greet the princess. His eyes meeting Lapis's as he sent a silent message. Nodding his head the man quickly hurried off. Turning to the princess the emperor let out a small smile. His next action caused a union of gasps as he took a step closer before getting on one knee. Kneeling on the ground the emperor gazed up at the princess patiently stretching out his hand for her to take once again.

"I'm sorry for having not prepared something before hand to make the princess's journey easier. I should known regardless this sort of journey from Celestia to Soleil is not easy. Forgive me, If your highness allows me. Let me help you a bit."

The emperor spoke softly as if speaking to a child. A faint smile crossing his face before standing turning to palace staff.

"You are all excused." With a union of bows the crowd quickly vanished safe for a few knights and Leta who remained close by.

"Excuse me." The emperor muttered before stepping into the carriage. Wincing slightly as he felt her mana pushing back at him.

"Your magesty." Leta argued before stepping down as he sent her a nod. With a worry glance she watched as he stepped inside before closing the door.

Sitting across from the princess the emperor let out even breaths as he took in the princess's appearance.

"It's alright." He assured her with a small smile. Reaching out his hands he cupped the princess's in his own. Ignoring the quick frost the transfered to him, he closed his eyes calling forth his own mana. Small gold embers began floating around him as he warmed the air around them. With a grunt he carefully balanced out the princess's temperature, taking in some of her own spilling frost as he transfered his own. With a shiver he pushed back as it tried to make its way to his core before letting out another wave.

As the warmth returned to the princess's hands he slowly opened his eyes. A relieved expression crossed his face as she seemed to regain concussion. Gazing at him with a wary guarded expression she quickly slipped her hands from his as if she had been burned.

"Forgive me for my inappropriate gesture., there was nothing else I could think to do."

"Why?" Celestia questioned him her face growing more expressionless as the emperor let out a small smile.

"Because regardless of how we came to this arranged marriage. Your highness is still my future partner. As emperor I'd rather have a queen who will stand equally at my side. A partner I can trust with ruling as Soleil's new moon Empress."
