The Betrayed Queen

In the Mythical land of Niandrian, the Queen, Natalia, had just had her marriage ceremony to her King Consort, Helben. She had been forced to marry him or risk her Queendom be destroyed by his family's forces as he was the Crown Prince of a much more powerful country, military wise. She had wanted to refuse as she absolutely hated men, but she wanted her subjects to be happy and healthy... so she couldn't afford to offend him or his family. Helben offered her wine to celebrate their marriage with a toast, but she refused to drink it.

"Why are you so cold to your new husband, my Queen?" a maid-in-waiting, named Chelsea, asked.

"He's not the man that my subjects think he is. So I refuse to be the docile figurehead that he wishes of me. His father may be the King of a much stronger nation than ours, but I refuse to allow more than this."

"But my Queen, don't you see?" Natalia felt a sharp pain in her back, going to her heart. "You never had a choice." Chelsea grinned down at her former Mistress and former Queen. "He already promised me the new nation that will be created from this merge of Kingdoms. I will be the Queen. Not you." That was all Natalia could hear before an ear piercing scream of terror and silent blackness.
