Alexander blinked. And he blinked again. What has he done? He had no right to disrespect his Queen and the Luna of his pack the way he just did. He turned slowly to look at her, comfortably nested in his arms.

Both of them were utterly naked like new born babies yet he couldn't get himself to look her in the eyes.

Jamie tried to lie very still, she had cuts and bruises on her back. Whether it was from the previous war she fought or the recent one she just had with Alexander she couldn't tell, just like she couldn't tell whether they just made love or just tried to hurt each other.

She heard her husband clear his throat. She waited for him to talk.

"I need to check how much damage I did to you, Janessa" Alexander's voice was low and filled with remorse with just a hint of residual anger.
