2 Chapter 2:Birthday Present

Mara ran away from her father and looked for her Nany. She went to the kitchen and there she found her. Nany was making the cookies.

She hugged her Nany from behind and started crying on her shoulder.

"Dear What happened? Who made you cry? Nany went and punished for you."

She knew that the Master made Mara cry. No one dare to make her cry.But she pretened not to being known.

"It was Pa Pa. Although he knows today is my birthday, he didn't fill my wish." She prouted her lips and didn't stop crying.

"What did you ask for your Pa Pa?"Nany asked patting her head.

"I just ask for a permission to go outside. I've never gone the outside of this mansion. I also want to go and visit the village."Mara said lowering her eyebrows.

"You're also right. I also help you to get a permission. Don't cry dear. If you cry, your skin will be dry and you won't get a beautiful face."She encouraged her.

"Really!" Mara was immediately happy hearing her Nany's words.

"Of course Dear. Where is your Pa Pa now?"She asked Mara.

"He is in the garden" Mara replied.

Nany stood up from the seat and then went towards Master Deva.

Mara kept on following behind Nany. When Nany met with Mara's father, Mara hid behind the entrance door and peek them.

Nany approched near the Master Deva and made a sound to know she was there.

Master Deva turned to her and asked her politely.

"Oh Nany, do you have something to tell me?"

"Yes, I have. Why don't you allow Mara to visit the village? I heard that she asked for a permission but you refused it. Why?" Nany asked him looking at his face.

In this mansion, only Nany dared to say Master Deva like that.

"I can't allow it Nany. You also know that."He told her.

Master Deva thoughts were in those days. They came again into his head. It was like yesterday.

FLASH BACK

When Mara was one year old, Master Deva was not as rich as now. He had to go to the places where the patients' houses. He took Mara along the way. One day, while he was curing the patient at the patient's house, his baby Mara was taken by the children from that house. The two children were played as the fighters who were for getting the princess's love.They handled the long bamboo sticks sharpening at the top. Mara was placed in the middle of the other children. But they also acted as the guards and ladies in waiting. Then the two started fighting. While they were fighting each other, one child stepped a stone and slipped towards Mara. The sharp on top of his stick sank into her abdomen. From that place, the blue blood were dripping to the ground. Mara cried aloud and all the children started shouting because of this sudden scene and blue blood from her.As soon as Deva heard the child's crying, he suddenly went off from his patient and looked for Mara.

He found Mara in one woman's hand. That woman was Nany. He ran towards Mara.The woman handed the baby in his hands. The woman said that the baby's condition was not good. She lost much blood. Then Deva went back to patient's house again and asked for a room to cure the baby. As soon as he got a room, the baby was fainted and her life was in danger. He removed the sharp from her abdomen carefully.As soon as he removed,the blue blood flowed non stop. He was very surprised because in normal human, he had never seen the blue blood. The depth was little deep so he made sure there was any pieces of the bamboo. While he was checking it, the hurt started healed itself. Meanwhile, the skin of the baby turned into blue,white and red scales. He moved little backwards from her because her body released the glittering different lights. After a moment, the lights from the baby went off and he started hearing the baby's cry again. When he heard it, he moved near the baby and looked at her. There was no scales on her skin and there was also no wound. He had never seen that the wound healed itself. He thought that this baby was special and very different from others. He decided to keep this as a secret. He was afraid that someone would harm the baby. Then he let his blood from him out and he made stain on the baby's clothes.Then he kept the clothes with blue blood in his bag. After that, he carried the baby and came outside the room. Everyone was waiting for them for good news. Deva said that his baby escaped from danger and she was safe then. After talking that, he greeted the patient's house. Meanwhile, the woman came near Deva and asked for a place to live and in return she would take care of the baby while he was outside. From that time, the woman became Mara's nany.

Flash back ended.

"But Master Deva, it happened in the past. Now Mara is grown up. She can defense herself." Nany said.

"No, Nany. I'm still worried about her."He argued.

"Mara come here. I know you're hiding behind the door." Master Deva said.

Then Mara moved out behind the door and came towards her father.

"Don't be sad Baby. Look at here. This is the birthday present for you."He took out the necklace from his vest.

"I don't want it. I just want to go and visit the village. "

"Don't be naughty. You are a good girl. Come here. I'll wear you this necklace on your neck."He said softly.

Then Mara moved forwards and stopped in front of her father.

Master Deva wore her the necklace.That necklace was very beautiful. There was also a locket with it.

"Baby I want to see you with the whole set. Go wear the earrings,hair pin and bracelet I gave you as the birthday presents. "

Mara went to her room to wear them.
