Chapter One- Life

She held her hair in a ponytail before getting off the cab she had came in and stared at the tall building she was working in for two months now she was the youngest employee but also one of the talented ones because she knew how to draw she was only nineteen waiting to be twenty in four months time and had completed high school seven months ago.

She never made plans to go to college but she's looking forward to that. No! She isn't poor but rather from a rich influential family known in the whole of Las Vegas. Her father, Meiza Akeem was known for his hardwork and piled wealth over the years he was also a good and very religious Muslim but her mother Lydia Akeem was a black American who was known to might have converted after her marriage to her billionaire husband all the same they were a happy family together with their two kids :Ridwan Akeem the male and the oldest and Raina Akeem the female youngest. Although their parents were rich they weren't pampered at all but rather raised strictly and according to their father's rules by the Islamic religion.

Raina being the female child was watched closely and monitored because her father was always  against the wayward ways of some females and wanted her to become a good refined woman in future so that way their family's prestige will still be intact. Growing up Raina never had friends except her nanny Mrs Margarita and close cousin Saiba who's friendship was forced upon her anyways they were very good friends and got along well. She saw in her brother RidWan a protective figure and problem solver who loved her and always doted around her while her mother was like her bestie she told her everything and seeked advice when she needed one and her father,because of his strictness she wasn't all that close to him like her brother RidWan but she loved him anyway because he provided with whatever she needed. Now enough!!

Raina was homeschooled throughout her life until she completed high school and since she was bored sitting at home she decided to get a job as the artist of an architectural company which took months before her father accepted after thorough convincing by virtually everyone in their family because he was against his daughter working. Her mother being the persistent lady she was managed to convince him letting him know that Raina was a lady now and has a right to live her life the way she wanted so he should give her some space which he did reluctantly and now here she was working as an assistant artist in one of the biggest Architectural Company(QB)Although she was new,she was liked by her fellow colleagues because of her absolute dedication and how she handled her job wholeheartedly. Other colleagues liked because she was selfless about her looks even though she was attractive and spoke little and cared less about her appearance like today she was spotted in a black dress which ended by her calves with black flat shoes on and no makeup while her short black hair was held in a Ponytail. "Good morning Mister Handson"her squeaky voice greeted the security guard at the door. "Good morning miss, how're you?" He asked her as he opened the door for her

"I'm doing great today, thanks!" She exclaimed as she entered the building happily and greeted everyone in the reception hall. They all responded and she made her way towards the elevator in order to get to the twentieth floor where her working place was. She got to the elevator and entered it just as the door was about to close a hand stopped it and in he came: Mr Manager, the good looking , handsome and flirty jerk: Lucas Porter. His eyes was on her as he stood beside her in the elevator "Good morning Manager" she greeted him politely. "Good morning so how was your night Beauty Queen?"He asked in his usual flirting way.She rolled her eyes "Good!"she responded rather curtly.There was awkward silence between them before he broke it "So have you given my proposal a thought?" He asked while smirking. She gave him the most ridiculous look;why would he think she would want anything to do with him? One, he was known for his womanizing and he was the first person she was warned against when she began working at the company andTwo, her father would kill her if she got into any relationship with any male before marriage so it's a no no! "I haven't thought about it and I'm not planning in accepting it" she replied.If he wasn't the shameless guy he was who would to have a relationship with a new employee? He moved so he was standing in front of her: " Are you sure about it?"He asked as he moved closer so they were breath away. Her was heart started to beat fast she had never gotten this close to anyone of the opposite sex before even brother never got this close.

He was staring into her brown eyes with his almost hazel ones how can someone so bad minded like him look so handsome she thought. She had to act fast or with him this close she wouldn't know if she could control herself. Then her eyes went to the elevator door four more floors to go.

Hers eyes sparkled, she remembered it the safety bottle Mrs Margarita had given to her. Slowly she reached for it in her bag making sure not earn his suspicion and it out carefully. She gave him one look before spraying his eyes with the pepper spray. He began to scream as he struggled to wipe his eyes with his hands but it was too late the damage had been done. She kicked him in the leg so hard that he moved away  from her and now she got to the door " Get this in your head, one I'm not like the other girls you can flirt with and two, I wouldn't want anything to do with someone like you!" She spat at him angrily. The door of the elevator opened and she got out " You are gonna regret rejecting me you whore!" She heard him shout while he still struggled to wipe his face. The elevator door closed and moved but she was still standing there "That was close!"She exclaimed while she placed her hand on her chest. How dare he try to harass her and he even called her a Whore. If only he knew whose daughter she was he wouldn't have messed with her. She sighed before making her to the office she shared with five other artists.
