3 Road Trip

Driving is not very easy, especially if you're alone and you need to spend more than twenty-one hours on the road. This road trip is not fun at all! It even looks like the road will never end. Evan is now worried about his family back home. But he needs to rescue his sisters from what's happening in New York.

He checked on his GPS monitor. It looks like he still has a very long way to go. It's been a boring trip, and he already missed his wife and kids. It's already nighttime, and the darkness seems to pull him into slumber. He tried to fight it so hard his head hurts.

"I need some music!" He talked to himself while turning on his car radio. The lively KPop song from BTS filled the silence of the night.

"Shining through the city with a little funk and soul...so Imma light it up like dynamite...ohhhh…"

He chuckled! Of all the types of music, he got a foreign boy band singing for him. Well, at least he's wide awake now.

He's enjoying the song and laughing himself out. That's when he saw a bright light that made him hit his brakes all of a sudden.

It seems that it's in a rush and before he even realized it, it was gone. "What was that?'' he asked himself.

Weird things are happening, and he knows that it's not just an ordinary vehicle. From the looks of it and the sudden bright light, it looks like a motorcycle.

Evan laughed at himself since it's impossible to have a motorcycle driving on this highway road he's taking. Four-wheel vehicles are the only ones that are allowed to take this road.

But it didn't even look like it had any wheels on it. It seems like it flew past him to avoid crashing into his truck!

He shrugged with this thought. "I might have dozed off. I see things already." Then he realized that he stopped in the middle of nowhere.

If you look around, you cannot see almost anything because it's's pitch black. He's the only one who seems to be driving at this hour which is very unusual.

There should be delivery trucks at the very least. But since he left the farm, he has never seen any vehicle just yet. Well, except for now and it doesn't even look like it's an actual vehicle.

Is it possible that he had witnessed a ghost rider? He shrugged that idea and started driving again. A gas station is almost nearby. Maybe it's a good idea if he can pass by and check if he can have some coffee.

General Capri realized that he almost hit a human. He never thought that he could come across someone while he's's driving his hybrid space vehicle. It looks like the incognito mode is broken. Good thing it suddenly gets activated before that human he almost hit realized.

But he needs to let it cool off in the meantime. It should have landed straight where he should be going. But it seems that he picked up the wrong space vehicle from the palace.

Queen Andromeda wanted him to go as soon as possible. He doesn't even have time to brief the soldiers. But they know what to do. He won't be gone long.

The queen's order is simple. Inform her human friends that they need to go with him. He can contact one of the soldiers to pick them up when they already agree.

General Capri looked around him. It's pitch black, but his eyes can adjust from the dark. So much like a night vision camera. He's mesmerized by the trees of different sizes. They don't have trees from the Mother Planet.

"So this is Earth!" he murmured to himself. It's his first time since he was forbidden to go there by the elders before. They need him to stay in MP since he will be the next in line to the throne. Since he's technically the Queen's fiance, he will be the king of their planet in due time.

He checked his watch for his vitals. It's doing well since it can let him adjust to various conditions. He doesn't need to wear other gears to breathe around this place. Or maybe it's because of the vessel he's's wearing now.

It looks like his vehicle is ready to roll again. General Capri jumped into his hybrid space vehicle, and it ran at lightning speed!

"Ms. Anika, I'll be there in just a few minutes!" he thought.

Anika and the twins are watching the news on their television. It isn't very good right now since everyone has been advised to stay at home. A lot of people get stranded where they are now, and it looks like there's even a food shortage that's happening from other places.

At least they are safe from where they are since they already have everything that they need around the farm. She wondered if her husband were able to pass the checkpoints from the roads. It seems that they are also trying to stop people from getting into another place.

Hopefully, Evan can reach New York to get his sisters. His father is just staying in his house near them. He's been anxious about his girls and hoping that his son can get them as soon as possible. The twins just brought him what he needs in his house. They said that he's, not himself, so they go home afterward.

Anika will check on him again later. She thinks that it's better to join him for dinner instead. That's one way of checking him. The old man seems to be content with whatever he has—but now worried because of his daughters.

"Ding!" The oven sound was heard from their kitchen.

Anika decided to roast a whole chicken and made some potato salad. They will bring it to his father-in-law for dinner so they can also check on his condition. Poor old man, he must have been so worried about the girls.

He didn't exactly know what's happening in New York City. But somehow, he knew that something terrible was happening to bring Evan there without even saying goodbye to him.

"Twins, help me with the food packing. We're going to eat dinner with your grandpa," she said to the kids.

They put the roasted chicken in a massive container since it has been packed with some aluminum foil to catch the juice. The potato salad is ready to go, and Celestia got it from their fridge.

"Astro, take the roasted chicken, and both of you can go ahead to your grandpa's house. I'm just going to lock the doors." Anika ordered the twins.

The twins went ahead holding the huge food containers in both hands. It's been a full moon so that it can light its way to the next house.

Anika made sure that the back door was locked and went out to lock their front door. She looked where the twins might be. They are almost halfway to their grandpa's house.

"Whoa! They're really fast!" she smiled at herself. It's either they're really fast, or she's very slow. Anika made sure that the light in their front porch is open, so it's not too dark when they get back later.

As she stepped the last stair of their porch, she noticed a very bright light that looked like a shooting star. From the looks of it, that will hit the cornfields again.

She remembered her husband whenever something like this happens. "Not the cornfield again!" he will say and run to check the crash site.

But she's not going to check it on her own. Evan is not here to do that, but she can check it in the morning. She's scared of the dark cornfields, and it can get very creepy when it's's nighttime.

Anika went straight to her father-in-law's house. She suddenly felt hungry already. She has to hurry up since she saw the twins entered the front door already.

"Argghhh!" General Capri growled since his hybrid space vehicle crashed directly to the ground. He lost control of it since it looks like he got a defective ride to Earth.

His back feels terrible because of the impact. He tried to stand up and groaned. Nothing is broken, though. He's's vessel is alright, but he never thought that he would feel the pain on his own.

He looked around him and saw a lot of plants around. He doesn't know what they are, but they can be sharp like blades if you're not careful. His index finger is now bleeding. He touched the leaves because of curiosity.

General Capri started to walk. He can't see anything but tall leaves. He wondered if it's also another species of trees. But they look very different from the picture of the tree they have on display back in the palace.

He keeps on hearing something, and it makes him feel uneasy.

"Ribbit....ribbit...croak….croak…."

As masculine as he is, the general feels a little scared of these creatures. He feels like a damsel in distress around here since he's not in his territory.

He wonders how Andromeda was able to live on this planet for quite some time. It's been a peculiar place to be. But he needs to sum up his courage and fulfill his mission. The queen is counting on him.
