When I woke, my hand instinctively reached out and found a cold spot. Jianyu had not returned. Or if he had, he had not entered my room.

I begrudgingly dragged myself out of the bed and fumbled to put on a t-shirt dress and leggings before walking to his room.

My hand hovered at the door as butterflies fluttered away in my stomach. What was I going to say?

This new, abrupt, change to my reality had my previously angered self somewhat pacified. I knew he had lied. I felt tricked into a marriage with this man, but I did not regret it. The fact that I did not regret it angered me more.

Knowing that he had some sort of power, even if it was just as a Taoist, encouraged me to think that maybe, just maybe he could withstand that Psycho's anger.

Shaking off my nerves I knocked loudly at the door and waited. Moments passed and there was still no answer, so I knocked again. When there was still no reply I tried the door and found it unlocked.

Inside the room was cold and empty, the bed neatly made.

Biting my lip, I spun on my heels to run to his office. No longer caring to be polite I attempted this door to find it actually locked. Angry, I knocked at it, hoping he was inside; there was no answer.

"Jianyu," I called out into the cold winter air, hoping to hear him call back. Still, there was nothing.

"Luna bug?" Dr. Wu's voice called up from downstairs. I ran to the top of the landing to see him standing there, "what's wrong?"

"Where's Jianyu?"

He chuckled, "it's only been one night and you're so aggrieved. I've made breakfast come."

Biting my inner cheeks, I grumpily came down the stairs and followed him into the kitchen to eat the takeout on the table.

"Are you going to tell me anything about my childhood?" I looked up at him, once my stomach was full.

Caught off guard by my sudden question the food fell from his chopsticks onto the table.

"That depends on what you want to know?"

Great.

"My real name is Mo Zhiyue right?"

He nodded, that was a start.

"Why did I go to the orphanage?"

"Your parents were murdered and your death faked," he explained, setting his chopsticks aside to give me his full attention.

Damn, that was too easy. Why couldn't Jianyu just be that forthright?

"Who murdered them?"

He momentarily hesitated, then replied, "someone in the Mo clan."

I had thought as much. Otherwise, why would that damn psycho go to such lengths to get her to quit her entertainment career?

"Do they know I exist now?"

"Yes," he sighed, "but don't worry, with Jianyu looking after you, you'll be fine."

"And that dead thing, was that because of them?"

"Most likely," he nodded, "they won't try conventional techniques, you have Jianyu's personal bodyguard's protecting you from assassination attempts."

I groaned, rubbing my aching head, "why can't Jianyu be as clear as you if I'd known…"

"He has his reasons," Dr. Wu defended him expectantly. They were all on his side. I didn't even have a side.

"So, this won't be the last dead thing coming for me?"

"Most likely, though your bodyguards are all in the know, so don't worry Luna bug, we got you."

I couldn't help but groan again, slumping forward on the table.

"Do you even really work for the CIB?"

"Yes, and before you ask, he really is at work."

I wasn't actually going to ask that.

My head throbbed even more. Why were they all so secretive? Why was Jianyu so distant from me because of the damn ghost?

I was the one who should be angry. I was the only one who had the right to be angry. He had lied.

Guilt tore at my conscious as I remembered I wasn't Zhiyue. I was Luna. A dead soul inhabiting her body. Even though none of them knew that, but I did.

"Anything else?" He asked earnestly.

"Not for now," I sighed, gathering the dirty dishes from the table to clean up, "I'll ask him when I see him next."

Unfortunately, that time never came. Three day's passed without a word from him. Even my calls and texts went unanswered.

Throughout those three days, Dr. Wu remained inside the penthouse with me, tending to me and trying to keep my mind occupied, reassuring me that he'll be done soon and would return.

Still, each time I woke up to reach that cold empty spot my heart began to ache more and more. What if that psycho got to him before I could explain? I had to tell him the truth, I had to tell him I wasn't Zhiyue and that if he remained beside me he'd be at risk.

The guilt was tearing me apart the longer I mulled over it all.

On the fourth morning of waking alone, I could not take it anymore. Dressing swiftly, I left the house as soon as I noticed Dr. Wu was showering in his room.

Hoping into the first taxi I saw, I made my way to Galaxy Entertainment. I couldn't speak with Jianyu, but that psycho should be there. If he was there, then hopefully he wasn't somewhere hurting Jianyu.

Maybe somehow I could talk some sense into him, even find out just who the fuck I was and why he was so hellbent on pestering me even after death. I was just a baby immortal, I only had one life. Even if he claimed I'd been his wife, that was before.

He had no right to lay claim to me or take his anger out on me. Luna was dead. Zhiyue was dead.

Entering through the main entrance, I ignored the strange glances from unfamiliar faces, embarrassingly remembering I had forgotten to at least wear a mask.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed the receptionist pick up the phone quickly as I walked into the elevator and pressed for the top floor.

Not surprisingly when I exited the elevator Secretary Li was rushing over in large strides.

"Miss Wei," he smiled coldly, "CEO Jiang is in a meeting, he's told me to guide you to his office to wait."

I nodded following him, my hands slightly trembling at my side as I tried to keep my spine straight.

As I entered the cold, large office, Secretary Li barely gave me a glance before closing the door. Likely rushing back to join his boss at the meeting.

Unable to sit down, I paced the room, trying to gather my thoughts on what it was I wanted to say. Even if the bastard killed me, so what? I'd just enter another body again, in a world far, far away from him.

"What's with that scowl on your face?" His melodic voice spoke softly into my ear. I had not even heard him enter the room, much less walk beside me.

My knees went weak, unable to hold me up with the fright. He reached out to hold me steady, then we both froze.
