71 4.11 SANGUINE LOVE: Obedient

Mo Yinan's useless body gets out of breath so easily. He has no hope in outrunning Cassander and only makes it to the edge of town before doubling over. 

Behind him is the grey town of Withermine, prosperous yet somber. Ahead is a barren landscape featuring scattered corpses of withered trees. It's quiet, aside from the wind that howls above them. The day is yet young but the sun is nowhere in sight. 

He can't do anything when Cassander catches up and parks himself by Mo Yinan's side. Cassander offers him a flask of water, which Mo Yinan scowls at and pushes away. He reaches for his own flask that hangs on his hips and takes a swig.

Cassander watches him intently, his eyes not leaving Mo Yinan for a second. "I didn't mean to upset you," he says with a soft tone, "Is there anything I could do to apologize?"
