2 Chapter Two

Alex's POV

I looked at James as he scribbled down something on my jotter. "You're seriously having a problem." I said and he frowned.

"Well, you're the one having a problem and I'm helping you solve it." He replied and placed the jotter on my table.

"I don't have a problem." I said to him and kept the jotter back in my drawer.

"You don't want to fall in love, that's your problem." He said to me and I let out a grin.

"That's my problem, not yours."

"I care, don't you get it, I want you to have a girlfriend, it would really help you relax, you've been busy lately." He explained and I chuckled.

"Thanks for your concern but I'm honestly not interested."

"Well, since you don't care, I have nothing to lose besides, I use and dump girls." He said.

"You should stop all those things." I advised and he picked up a document from my table.

"Drop it," I ordered and he dropped it immediately. "I'm still your boss." I reminded him and he laughed.

"I got you this job and you're now my boss, it's really sad." He said.

"I'm sorry for the way I ordered you, I just don't like people going through my things and prying into my personal life."

"Have you seen the letter from Naomi Mandel?" I asked, changing the topic. I nodded with a smile.

"Yes"

"So how about you? What's going on with you lately? You've been acting weird and quiet."

"It's Maggie." James replied with a frown and I raised my eyebrows in surprise.

"And what about her?" I asked.

"She caught me sleeping with another lady." He answered and my eyes widened. I pretended not to hear that all though I did. I just placed the files back into the cabinet and managed to stop myself from laughing because I felt like smacking his face for cheating on her.

"She was such a nice lady." I said with a smirk.

"That isn't what I expected you to say."

He replied and I rolled my eyebrows in surprise. Of course, that wasn't the right thing to say but I just didn't have the urge to meddle in his business.

"What do you expect? A closing remark or a speech, I'm not a motivational speaker." I reminded him and he laughed.

"Are you really taking sides with her?" He asked as he took a paper from my table.

"Put that down," I ordered again and he dropped it immediately. "I'm not taking sides with anyone, I'm only stating the obvious." I added and picked up my phone from the table.

"Seriously?" He asked with a confused expression. I chuckled and walked out of my office. As I walked down the stairs, all the workers scurried to their seats after they saw me. I laughed and walked out of the organization.

I loved instilling fear on them, they obviously feared me and would not be able to challenge me. My driver opened the car door for me and I entered sitting down comfortably.

"Where should we go now?" Mr Larry, the driver asked and I looked at him with anger.

"We should probably go to your funeral." I answered. "Take me home." I ordered and picked up a document, I flipped through the pages if I would see any idea for an event.

I didn't even know when the driver stopped in front of my house, I was engrossed in analysing the documents. He drove into the compound and I came out of the car and walked into the house.

"Alex, you're back home early." Oliver said hugging me.

Oliver was my younger brother, he was this troublesome and annoying brother that made my life difficult but he also had this sense of humor that I loved. He actually said he liked older women and we laughed about it, I didn't even know if it was a joke or not.

"I'll be going back to the office soon, I just wanted to check on you since Mrs Rosalie traveled." I replied and he looked at me with a smirk.

"I am not a kid, I can cope on my own, I don't need your help." He scoffed.

"You won't understand until you get this house burnt, you're my younger brother even though you're 28 years and I have authority over you."

"How many times do you have to remind me that you're my eldest brother?" He asked and I leaned on the wall.

"I'm sorry." I apologized, I was probably in a bad mood but he didn't notice it.

"So how's your girlfriend?" He asked.

I looked at him and chuckled as I sat on the chair.

"I don't have a girlfriend." I answered and saw his sober face.

"You don't have a girlfriend and I have already, you need to get a girlfriend. I can't wait to have someone call me uncle." He said and I rolled my eyes nudging him with an elbow.

"I don't think uncle fits you, you should be a gardener." I joked and he threw his phone at me. I caught it with one hand and laughed. "I wish I didn't catch it, I'm sure you know what would have happened to it."

"And you call yourself a good brother?" He asked.

"Well, I'm good but not perfect, there's a difference though." I answered and took a glass of water from the tray on the dining table.

"I'm really hungry, why don't we go and grab lunch before you go to your office." He suggested.

"No, I'll eat in my office cafeteria, I don't like going out with you. I always end up being embarrassed each time I go out with you." I said and he laughed.

He brought out his phone and checked the map. He looked at me and smiled, then faced my driver. "Mr Larry, drive me to a nearby cafeteria, I'm hungry." He ordered and my driver looked at me.

"No problem, I'll drive my car, you can use the other car to take him anywhere he wants to go, even to hell." I said and walked out of the house.

I entered my car and drove off. I had to focus on driving but I couldn't. I hated driving and the notifications on my phone couldn't let me think properly. I mistakenly splashed mud on a woman who grew angry and threw a stone in my direction.

I parked the car and got down. "You can throw the stained cloth and get new ones." I said and she slapped me.

Who do you think slapped Mr Alex?
