14 CHAPTER ELEVEN

I allowed Riott sign on my new camera. He gave me an autograph and his newest album but the sweetest gift he gave me were the lyrics to his soon to be released song. Harry frowned at it but Chase kept him in place.

I didn't stay for the concert and Chase understood. He knew I was pissed at Erin. We bid farewell to Riott right after I declared my undying love for him...yeah,I love him in that fan girl's way.

Chase didn't talk to me during the drive to the airport. He totally gave me the silence I needed and inside the jet,I wrote on my journal while checking all my newly fulfilled wishes.

Chase even slept off! He snored lightly making me know how tired he had been. Surely the job of a CEO was much to handle.

We got back to London before 9:00 pm and Chase made his driver take me home while calling for a cab. So sweet.

At home...Deb greeted me with a huge smile plastered on her face,I felt like ripping it off. Hello,I wasn't smiling! So,I barely acknowledge the smile and just walked past her. My thoughts were all about Erin. I got into the shower and washed up. After changing into my pj's,Deb walked in.

"Stop acting like you forcefully got laid." I rolled my eyes and adjusted my duvets. I sat on the bed and Deb jumped into it. "Hey. What's up? Was he an asshole to you?"

"Not at all. Riott was great"

"Of course he would be,you're his fan. I'm talking about your boss,sweetheart."

"Oh Chase was so sweet". I opened my phone and showed her the simple Goodnight text he sent me on my ride back home.

"What's gotten your panties twisted then!? You're worrying me,bitch"

I sigh. "Its Erin"

"Erin? She wasn't at your date with Chase so what exactly?"

"It wasn't a date" She rolled her eyes.

"Whatever makes you sleep. So Erin?"

"Okay. Harrison Blair,Thomas Blair,Erin fucking Blair!"

"I don't understand,Gina" She scrunched her brows. I gave her a moment and her eyes widened soon when it finally sank in. "Erin is family to Riott? No fucking way!"

"Oh wait for it." She rose a brow. "Riott is Chase's cousin and that makes Erin?"

Her mouth dropped. "Told you she wasn't to be trusted."

"Seriously Deb,right now?"

"Sorry." She mouthed and left my room for hers.

Monday came quicker than anticipated. I didn't want a fallout with Erin but I still had to confront her. I got to work earlier than usual in a chicken escape from meeting Erin in the hallway or outside the building. Unfortunately,she was in the elevator when it slid open. I refuse to chicken out from facing something I had already plan to chicken out from but failed to...pun intended. I entered with a sigh.

The buttons kept sliding up. We were at the eleventh floor when she finally spoke up.

"Chase told me what happened." I smiled bitterly.

"Oh yeah,Chase now. You mean the boss?" I asked sarcastically.

"Hey,I know I messed up big time but can you give me a chance to explain myself?" I looked at the plea in her eyes and melted. She must've known I would find out sooner than later though. I mean,the easy internship. The free time,interlude during work and all. She put a word to him. He was my,our boss.

She should really find a good excuse.

"Please?" She begged again.

"Fine. Lunchtime at the cafeteria downstairs." She smiled with a nod saying nothing after that.

The doors slid open on the twenty sixth floor and she stepped out smiling at me softly.

I rode on to the top floor.

"I wouldn't have treated you different or less better though. I liked you when I first saw you." I reprimanded.

Erin had ordered lots of sweets,bagels and my favourite,chicken wings before I got to the cafeteria obviously to win my heart,and well,you could say I became Deb. It worked. She spilled everything to me. From how her previous friends had duped her having befriended her only because of her money to her boyfriend who kidnapped her for a larger chunk of it.

"I know now but I was scared." She justified. "I didn't wanna make the same mistake. You know I got to change schools and states. It was a new start so..."

"Oh dear,I totally understand. Don't beat yourself,okay?" She held unto my hands and I squeezed tightly. "I'll always be here,not just for your money or inheritance but for your sweet soul,okay?"

"Thanks Gina"

"Its alright."

"And Deb?" I sighed.

"I told her" I crinkled my nose and squinted my eyes giving my face a very funny and unattractive look.

"She would totally hate me now" Erin pointed out,chin on her palm with her elbow resting on the dark coffee table.

"She has trust issues,yeah but she'll totally understand. Deb isn't monstrous."

"But her glare totally is."

"Something she has in common with Prof Leeds" We shared a small laugh. "How about we group chat about rich Erin?"

"Oh no" Erin chuckled and brought out her phone.

We had better disband this group so we don't chat with liars ~D

Are you seriously in support of her,Gina!? ~D

She explained to me okay? And lets say I totally get it from her point ~R

The excuse better be worth it ~D

Look,I'm sorry Deb but why don't we talk this out over a nights out? ~E

I have a condo downtown. Chase gifted it to me on my birthday this year. How about we go there? ~E

She may even be a serial killer :(

Yeah,chicken wings was the best choice for lunch ~R

"That wasn't so bad now,was it?" I asked immediately we dropped our phones down.

"I wish it gets easier when I tell her everything."

"You're a strong person." I reassured her. And yeah,she was bold enough to recount her past. Tonight would make it twice.

If I were to talk about my past,demons wouldn't stalk me anymore.

But what do I do?

I've been running away from it for a very long time but I had this pulling feeling it would overtake soon.

I may be loosing the reins.
