11 sunrise

It was an early morning and Jaemin was awoken by his nurse, who went to check on him.

The woman walked to the side of his bed, flashing Jaemin a gentle smile.

"I am so sorry for waking you up so early. I forgot to tell you yesterday. But Jaemin, your friend called to notify me that he'll visit you later today."

"Renjun?"

Jaemin muttered, barely awake as he rubs his eyes in a sleepy manner while sitting on his bed, blinded by the lights of his room being switched open.

The woman nodded and turned her back to check on the monitors.

"Yes, Renjun. I wanted to check on you earlier than usual so the both of you can spend your time together without having to be bothered by anyone. I can tell how much you missed your friend for not being able to visit you three days straight."

The woman emitted a soft chuckle as she gave Jaemin a quick glance.

This made Jaemin perk up, beaming at the thought of his friend finally visiting him after days of not doing so.

"Ah.. You didn't really have to. I don't mind it. But, thank you so much. You're so kind."

Jaemin beamed, bowing his head in respect. He earns a chuckle in response.

"Oh, it's nothing. Just don't get too excited and hyped, hm? You know what can happen if you move alot."

"Yes, of course. I'll bear that in mind. Having you do this for me means a lot and I wouldn't want to burden you further, Nurse Kim."

Jaemin amiably chirps, no longer feeling sleepy as it is immediately replaced with a sense of happiness.

"Hmm.I believe Renjun will come visit you by the time you'd usually eat your breakfast. Maybe he can bring it here for you so I wouldn't have to disturb the both of you."

Nurse Kim mutters to himself as she scribbles on her clipboard, which Jaemin couldn't quite decipher nor read.

"I'll get going now, okay? Get more rest if you still feel sleepy. You will need the energy for later."

Nurse Kim gave Jaemin one last smile as she bid farewell to the boy. Sliding the door open and shut close, the sound of footsteps against the tiled floors gradually fading.

Jaemin stared at the door before averting his attention to the window, humming in realization that the sun is just about to rise.

The sky was still dark outside, but the stars that were scattered began to fade as light slowly takes over.

Jaemin smiled at the sight, it is a sight that should not be missed.

"Oh, do I wonder if someone is looking at the sunrise right now, too."

He muttered to himself.
