"Good morning, Doctor Jung."

Jaemin found himself sitting uncomfortably on the chair placed in front of the doctor's desk. The cold breeze made him shiver. He sighs, unaware of the breath he was holding. The faint odor of disinfectant sprays made him feel nauseous. Everything just feels so uncomfortable for Jaemin.

"Good morning, Jaemin. I believe you already know the reason why you're here right now, am I right?"

The older male asked, Jaemin nodded his head in response.

"Very well then. I hope you're prepared for whatever I am about to tell you."

"Your condition has worsened, Jaemin."

It made Jaemin sink inside, like something heavy started to weigh him down, preventing him from moving properly. He mindlessly juts down his bottom lip, his fingers fiddling together under the table as he kept his gaze on the person in front of him. His doctor didn't look like he was kidding in any way at all, and it made Jaemin a bit more nervous.

"You need to start taking therapies as soon as possible if you want to feel better. You can't keep on refusing to take your therapies. Even convincing your parents to not let you take them. The therapy and the medication will help slow down the growth. However, we cannot proceed with your therapy without your parents' consent. We will have to talk to them about it and hopefully, schedule your first therapy soon. You'll survive if you take therapy, Jaemin. I promise."

The older male became quiet, and the awkward silence caught Jaemin off his train of thoughts.

He throat ran dry.

"As I have expected.."

He lets out a faint chuckle, his voice mellow and fragile. Like a glass.

"Well, I don't think I have anymore options at this point. Please do notify my parents about it and ask them to meet you soon."

"I will."

"Thank you, Doctor Jung."

Jaemin bows his head before standing up, grasping the side of his head when he turned dizzy at the sudden movement. He hoped his doctor didn't notice it. He flashes a small smile before turning to his heel and leaving the room, his shoulders slumped down.

He knew it coming.

Now what's left is how he will tell his best friend about the result he received. He didn't want to tell the boy about it, considering that it was far from being a good news. He doesn't want Renjun to worry about him further. He doesn't want to be a burden. He doesn't want Renjun to cry.

But life is a painful reality we all live in.

They say there's a reason for everything that happens. Jaemin has yet to find the reason why things happened like this.
