12 dearest

"Good morning, my dearest Nana! Oh, geez. Never thought it sounded that weird. Forget about ever hearing me say that, please."

Renjun's voice boomed across Jaemin's room, catching the brunet's attention and causing the latter to burst out laughing. Renjun slid the door close as he pushes the tray forward, and stopping it in front of Jaemin's bed.

"You didn't visit me for three days and now you're already calling me your dearest Nana, hm? That's cute, Injun. I missed you, too."

Jaemin grinned toothily, Renjun gave him a look before walking to his side to embrace Jaemin in his arms.

"I missed you, too. But I told you to forget about hearing me call your nickname with the word 'dearest' besides it."

Renjun retorted, causing the brunet to chuckle as he embraces Renjun in return, his gaze meeting the bouquet of flowers placed beside his breakfast. It made him pout a bit, he tugs on Renjun's jacket and points at it as they pulled away from the hug.

"I told you to stop buying me flowers."

"And I told you that those flowers-"

Renjun was about to answer when Jaemin cuts him off.

"That those flowers are from Chenle. Right. I know."

Jaemin huffs, folding his arms above his chest causing the latter to snicker at the gesture as he settles Jaemin's meal down.

"Well, then I'm glad that you actually know. That means you've been actually listening to me, Nana."

"Of course I am. But do you care to tell me why you were unable to visit me? I know it's too much of me to ask you.. but I just missed you so much. The entire three days was so boring without you around. No one visits me other than you. It felt so lonely. You know how my parents are too busy to even bother.."

Jaemin trails off, releasing a sigh as he unfolds his arms to clutch on his sheets tightly. Renjun reverts his gaze to the boy, picking the bouquet up to hand it to Jaemin.

"It was my finals, Nana. I planned to tell you before but I didn't get the chance to because my parents refused to let me out without studying hard for it. Luckily, I passed all of my exams and they allowed me to visit you again. I'm sorry for not telling you beforehand. But don't be sorry for asking me, Nana. You know I never saw you as a bother. I never will. You're my best friend. If anything, I should be the one apologising. I left without a word. I don't want to leave you again. I'm not leaving you, Nana."
