1 Prologue

The ticking of the clock on the wall was all I could hear. Everything else was tuned out as I waited for the bell signaling the end of school to ring. My leg began to bounce violently as I grew impatient by the second. I glanced up at the clock every minute disregarding the teacher in front of me that was teaching something I knew I would need to know for the mid-term exams next week. The only thing I could think about however was getting out of here and into the forest. I felt too caged in, like an animal at a zoo. While I was thinking about ways to describe how I felt at school the bell finally rang. It didn't catch me off-guard, though it hurt my ears. It was a blessing and a curse to have heightened senses. I picked up my bag and headed straight to the big swing doors at the entrance of the school with incredible speed. I pushed them open with minimum strength and dashed towards the forest. Feeling the cool autumn wind hitting my skin made me feel free as I dashed past trees and shrubs. I soon stopped when I neared Alpha Reiner's and Alpha Gregor's territories. Seeing how I was the daughter of two rogues stepping onto any of the two pack territories was a death sentence even if you were just passing through. I knew now I needed speed to get to my home so I stripped my clothes and began to shift after placing them into my school bag. I took the bag in my mouth and dashed off through the now grassy plains. Then I stopped abruptly. It was as if something struck me in the heart as i began to limp on the outskirts of Alpha Gregor's territory.

A distant growling caught my attention as I went into defensive mode. For some reason though I didn't exactly feel threatened but my instincts still prompted me to try to protect myself. Even though I wasn't on Gregor's territory I still posed a threat being a rogue and all. My mother and father didn't raise me like most rogues who terrorized packs. They thought me to respect one's pack even if it wasn't mine. They also thought me about mates and how they are joined by the moon. I never really cared for that though. I wanted to be alone and fend for myself, I didn't want a mate and all the responsibilities that came with being a mated she-wolf. After all as a human I'm only sixteen. I didn't want to have pubs running around just yet, if at all.

I heard the growl again this time I made out a black wolf walking towards me with a fierce expression but again I didn't feel threatened. I soon came to know why when he got closer and i took in his scent. He was my mate. The one I was destined to be with. He came right into my face and took a huge sniff, then licked me. His eyes were glowing yellow and I could tell he was an alpha. I shook my white fur trying to get his saliva off me. He growled again when he realized what I was doing; scolding me for wiping his scent from myself. I wanted to growl back at him but I couldn't seeing as I still had my bag in my mouth. All I wanted to do was get home but instead I met my fate, literally. Then out of no where more wolves came surrounding me and I had no where to go. I knew now I wasn't going to get home anytime soon after this encounter.
