A Wonderful Art Wasted

Looking at those smiles as he helped them with the transfiguration spell was starting to make him sick. These brats should know their place, pathetic the lot of them, Oh! How I would love to them how I really think of them. Just think about the coming years he had to spend in this castle making merry with them like a good little boy made Aren shiver.

To think he put that dull and boring life behind him when he died. He would not allow it, the only place completely secure of any outside interference in this school is the chamber of secrets but he can't speak snake, therefore, it's out of his reach. The room of requirements is not safe either as there was no guarantee when someone might stumble upon it. All those paintings around the hall don't exactly help either.

Its either he waits until summer time to play with the common folks or he gets control of the chamber, there is no other option at the moment.

"Aren? Hey, man you there?" Bell called as he started shaking the hell out of Aren.

"I am fine, so stop shaking me," Aren called out as he was forcibly snapped out of his dazed state.

"Well, that good and here I thought I lost you," Bell said with a smiled.

"Next time, be more gently, Okay." Aren softly whispered.

Bell immediacy stepped from Aren with his hands behind his back protectively protecting his butt. He didn't know what happened? But the tone Aren just used gave him the shivers.

The person in question turned back with a smile, temporarily satisfied as if he had just got his revenge for the earlier treatment.

"Come along now Bell we have one more class to attend," Aren called out as slowly walked away.

Shaking his head Bell followed behind but kept some distance between them just to be safe for reasons he still had no idea. Aren was not pleased with the history of magic class therefore while everyone was trying their best to stay awake, he was practicing exorcism of the ghost. But, so far regardless of how much he tried his magic couldn't produce the results he desired instead he felt drained of all his strength. The ghost continued rambling of the goblin rebellions was all the indicator Aren needed to know that is efforts were completely wasted.

At last, he learned one of the limits of his current magical ability. Despite having a firm will and intent in his magic could not yield the desired effect. Aren theorized that the magic he had performed till know used up raw magic to forcibly carry out his will but this time due to the lack of raw power he failed. Therefore, so far, he had been brute forcing in his use of magic. Further study is required in spell casting and wand movements to reach a clear decision.

Potions began almost the same as he had expected, it seems the Professors of Hogwarts have taken it upon themselves to carry out the same form of introductions in all classes. Snape made his dramatic entrance, then proceeded with his opening speech.

"You are here to learn the subtle science, and exact art of potion making," he began, keeping them silent without effort. "As there is little foolish wand-waving many of you will not believe this is magic. I don't really expect you to understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses… I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper to death – if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach." Aren had to hand it to the man. He had a way with words. Even though it was the same speech witnessing it firsthand instead of reading about it is a different experience altogether. However, the only difference was the lack of question

Snape looked at him appraisingly before looking away and ignoring him and continuing with the roll call.

"Instructions on the board, begin, you have half an hour," Snape said, flourishing his wand and leaving the instructions on the board.

Really, Despite being a master of his craft he was completely irresponsible, after all, who would allow children who never had any experience in handling any type of potion free to do rein.

What's a little class without any accidents? Just his type of guy, but too bad he can still 'FEEL'.

Potions had a vast range of uses. It can be undetectable once administered therefore the perfect to use to carry out his plans in both worlds. It seems he would be investing a large amount of his time in learning potions.

Such a wonderful Art wasted under their hands.

They can not even utilize it properly to its complete potential, instead, they have remained stagnant. Why bother working hard making money just find a rich idiot and give him some potions to make him your manservant. If you are the world-conquering type just treat your followers to a dinner party with a healthy dose of loyalty potion. Well if it doesn't exist then make one. There is a million uses he could think on the top of his head that these so-called wizards ignored Aren raged.

The class was too eventful with no accidents much to his disappointment but really what was he hoping with Puffs and Claws in the same class. Not to mention with Snape hovering above their heads.

Aren started on his own potion by carefully following the instructions on the board. Really, these brats should at least bother to look at the board, regardless of if they have a book with them or not. After all, you never know you might find something interesting. There was a minor difference then the recipe mentioned in the book.

He quickly and efficiently completed his potion in 25 minutes and bottled it, handing it to Snape, and wondering what his reaction would be to his nearly perfect potion.

Snape studied the vial carefully and far more critically having noticed the difference.

"Hmmm, passable…" Snape reluctantly said, putting an A into his grade book.

"I'll try to do better next time, sir." Aren politely said, while still inwardly knowing that his potion was easily worth an O. The others watched as Aren left while wondering to themselves how he finished the potion five minutes early but shrugged it off as poor work.

Aren made himself comfortable in the common room as he began to seriously study his textbooks. After some time, Bell arrived and ruined his study mood, therefore, putting away his supplies in his room the duo left to start roaming the halls of Hogwarts. They eventually managed to find Harry and his puppy going to the Great hall for dinner. They conservation was mostly about magic and their first class. Until potions were mentioned, Harry turned silent, but the little puppy decided to open his mouth. Aren and Bell had sympathized with him at being pointed out.

They separated after bidding farewell as they went to their respective tables. Aren was pleased with the day's events so far.
