1 First Kill

I want to strangle him more than anyone. I want his blood in my hands, but I dare not touch him. I want him moaning and gasping for breath by the time I leave him bounded in the wall. With his knees barely supporting him to stand, if not for the shackles in his neck and the chains on his arms. I want his face covered in blood. His mustache was shaved off of him by a very clean razor blade. I want to leave my mark on his body. I want to bite his neck until it bled and he screams for mercy. I'd like to tear off his nipple with my teeth. Oh! I so want him screaming and begging. But most of all, I wat him to see me. With those shining eyes of his. I want to possess it. Yes… yes I'm going to tear his eyes off of him if he so dare divert his eyes away from me. he must look at me. This time it must be him who should understand. He must understand that if he only looks at me, just look at me and he would have live.

The bunk is wet and his shoes are dirty, covered in mud. He was called from his sleep and right now he was hoping he never had to pick up that phone. Jay looked at the limp body in front of him. How many times has it been this month? Two? Three? Another unknown and unrecognized body. A few weeks ago he was looking at the same scene. Bite marks all over the body. There were several lashes in his body that was cleaned and left without a single trace of blood.

"Damn the killer never had any remorse for what he had done." Jay murmured.

"Eye Banker. That we would call him." Jay's boss had feed him the information about the case. He couldn't quite follow the briefing. He was focused on the dead body in front of him.

He even splayed the dead body as if it was an offering. As if he wants to tell that everyone is welcome to see his work. He was so damn proud about this. It's as if this was the very art of his work. Once again Jay looked at the man's face, unrecognizable face.

"Clean shaven again." He breathed.

The cuts were almost invisible with the blood that covered the dead man's face. It was the only place that was left unkempt. However, that was not the horror of Jay's life, for the third time he looked at the vacant eye socket that hunted his every dream. It was as if looking directly at him.

"That's what gave you nightmare." Gabriel his colleague taps his shoulder, breaking his contact in the empty holes.

"Do we have a witness?" How many more nights until he could forget that empty holes? He wondered.

"Damn Jay, of we had a witness we wouldn't be staring at that body." Gabriel snapped, he never had a good temper on his sleeves.

Buying a control form his system Jay once again look at the dead man's face. "He wasn't gag. He could have screamed. But why?"

"Why didn't he scream?"

"Would you not scream?" He snapped, unable to stay calm.

Gabriel look at Jay, baffled. He was supposed to be the one who snapped in their team. Is Jay getting more stressed as this killer went on bragging his masterpiece without being catch? Or was it because of his recent fight with his fiancée? That's right a fiancée who could never get the feeling of him being a cop.

For the third time since he came at the crime scene Jay sighed again. Tapping his friend shoulder, he left and went to his mobile. He needed some air to breath. He was not the hot headed type and he doesn't like being too much affected by this event.

"Detective…" one of the officers called to him.

"What do we have officer?" Jay said without looking at the direction of his new company. He looked at his reflection in the hood of his mobile. He looked like he'd age more.

"We have the results from the two bodies before this." Jay could hear the flipping papers that were being passed to him.

He took it without looking at the police officer. "Kim Marcus?" He absent-mindedly asked.

"First body. Turns out both were student. Not the same class, but both students in a law school." The officer supplied.

Law school? He looked at the profiles of the student. Both were undeniably handsome. Could this be it? A jealous affair? The first boy had good grades, unlike Raniel the second victim. However, the second boy has a touch of a delinquency in him just by the way he dressed. Another point of being total opposite between the two. He heard the turning heels of the officer in front of him.

"Officer?" He called.

"Mark, Detective, Mark Williams."

A quick smile escaped Jay's face and he look at Mark.

"Mark, officer Mark." He tasted the boy's name in his tongue. Probably a neophyte. Five years younger than him. "Do you have a sister Mark?"

Jay's question had put the kid aback. "Sir?" He was shock but definitely not stammering. 'Smart kid', Jay thought as he looked at the kids big curious eyes. "Yes detective." He finally answers.

"Older than you?"

"A twin sir."

"Perfect."

"Sir?"

"Would your sister date two different guys?"

"You mean two different personalities?"

"I believe that's what I'm talking about."

"You think were after a girl?"

Jay couldn't help but smile. The boy was quick, really quick. "Not exactly but she could be the reason."

Marks' brow crease and look into a space. Thinking. "You mean a love triangle?" The boy looked at him inquisitively as if it was a puzzle.

"That could be one thing. But still we haven't ID the new body."

Mark's smile grew even bigger. "Wait till you met my Mary."

"Ahhh… the twin sister perhaps?" Jay confirmed.

"She helped me made those reports." He said indicating the papers in Jay's hand.

Jay look at the files and furrowed his brows.

"Oh, no she doesn't see that, I swear. You see she's a law student herself."

"Her classmates?" Jay asked. Does his computation in Marks' age wrong? Does the kid just look like a kid?

"Nah. She's a first year. She took up Psychology before. And besides she's gifted." Mark explained

"How come she knows them?"

"Said it was all over the campus that the two student were missing. She gave me the name, matched their identity with the dead body and there it is the profiles." Mark filled him. Is this what he was looking for? A lead?

"Why do I have the feeling that I would like meet your sister?"

Mark looked at him and smiled sheepishly. "Then I suggest you braced yourself, detective."

Looking at Mark, Jay gave him a smirk, those things doesn't scare me. 'A hard bound nerd, who would be so damn egoistic know it all bastards. A big antisocial individual, narcissistic and with only a few strides would be lining up with Hitler for being a racist. Oh yeah boy I'm used to that!'

-----

"Uhmmm… so Jay it's me, you're not around again I guess. I'm sorry about earlier you see it was just hard for me, I know it's hard for you too, but you see Jay I think you better know your priorities. I can't just always hang around and wait for you. What if we get married? I don't think I can make it with you prioritizing you job above all others. So you see…" There was a long paused before Gin, Jay's fiancée was able to say anything. There's a sniffing sound on the other line and when she speaks again her voice was infected with tears, "… what I'm really talking about now is that… I need some time to cool off. I'm sorry Jay I love you but…" she paused and there was a snorting sound in the line, she was crying really hard, "I think we need you to think about this whole relationship. Goodbye."

Her words had echoed in Jay's mind. He absent-mindedly brushed his cats' fur that was striding across his lap. "She said cool off but she said goodbye." He whispered. "How can I understand you, woman?" He cursed as he pressed his nose between the knuckles of his fingers.

The receiver sounded again starting to play the recorded call.

"Hello this is Jay I'm probably out so please kindly leave your message and I'd call you back later. Thank you."

There was a quite tone at the end line, not too quite but there was this weeing sound at the background. It sounds like a prank call to Jay and just when he was about to end the call someone speak at the background. It was raspy small voice. "Look at me." And the call ended.

Jay didn't know what to make out of the call. But suddenly he just felt like he had just got his biggest lead at his case. He grabbed the scattered files in his table that he had neglected since he came home. There it was the empty eye socket and the sprawled body. He was right about this he was on the right track he is looking for a woman.
