1 PROLOUGE

KEEGAN Hernandez lived on Cherokee Drive, on the far end of the small neighborhood. His small house was covered with trees that almost seemed to bend. Because the unusual trees, people seemed to avoid their house and the people inside it, whether they noticed what they were doing or not.

Because of this, Keegan had created the habit of keeping to himself. His mother was never home, and his father was deceased. The only thing close to a parent was his Nanny, Tamera Daniel's. She was one of the only people willing to talk to him, which only added to the problem.

But as soon as he was 4, Tamera had moved to college, and he was stuck with some nanny who didn't even bother to heat up food. She just lazed about all day. One day, Keegan and his nanny went out to the grocery store, and Keegan saw a little boy around his age and an older boy that looked like the carbon copy of the younger one.

He was his brother.

Keegan frowned in jealousy. He hadn't been gifted with a brother, young or old. But he really wanted one now.

His nanny and him finally returned home and he looked at it in distaste. This house made him alone. It would be much better with a brother.

As night neared, 4-year-old Keegan did his nightly routine. Ate, brushed his teeth, washed up, and get into bed.

As soon as he got into bed, he felt a cold kiss on his forhead and heard a masculine "Goodnight little buddy."

Keegan immediately looked over to the sound to see what looked like a slightly older version of him. The boy looked around 5 or 6 years old. He looked just like him. But his hair was curly, he had the start chiseled jaw, and smaller eyes. And for some reason, Keegan knew his name.

Josh, my brother. He thought.
