Laura gets film prospects

Laura was excited to share her news with Blake, but he was not home yet. He was out playing golf with Gregory, Rene's brother.

It was exciting news. A European film producing company had called her modeling agency and asked for a contract with her to act in an international film. They had followed her story on the news and apparently, they liked her look. So, they wanted to see how she did with acting.

"Well, now I have to make a plan to use this opportunity,"she told herself as she sat in her lounge in front of the television. Monique was still out on a walk with her nanny.

"If I go to Europe, then Monique will have to come with me. There's no way that I'm gonna leave her behind, especially not after my harrowing kidnapping episode."

It felt like yesterday when she was kidnapped to Greece by the crazy politician. She was not going anywhere without her family.

"Oh, please let Blake agree to go with me," she prayed softly as she clutched her hands together hopefully.

Shannon had informed her about the film offer.

"Will I be able to perform, though? What if I just can't act?" she asked herself.

"I suppose I can learn, just like I've learned everything else so far. Who would have thought that I could be a great model? I would never have dreamt that I could one day become a skilled model."

Laura now knew that being successful as a model was not only about looking good. One had to work hard to portray the image that the advertising agency wanted.

"I'm tired of just sitting around, safe from abductions but very bored, even though we have enough money for now. I won't be afraid of Europe just because I had a bad experience there," she told herself with firm determination.

Adam was happy to hear that Jacqueline was feeling daring enough to discuss her calling as a psychic with her parents.

"At worst, they can reject you for a few weeks. You guys are so close that they will have to see your point of view very quickly," he said to her as the two of them sat on his Aunt Priya's patio. Jacqueline had decided to spend time with him and his favorite aunt for a change while she gave him her news about her newly-found courage to talk to her parents.

"It's a controversial topic, yes, but think about how happy you will feel when you know that they know about your hidden talents," Adam remarked with an excited glint in his eyes.

It was sunset and they were going to spend the rest of the weekend at Adam's aunt's place because a distant cousin of his was having a wedding there for the weekend.

"I'm just so glad that I've made this decision. It's awful not to share stuff with my parents," Jacqueline remarked.

"And you can also tell them about your first experience at a traditional Indian wedding. That should be even more dramatic than telling them that you're becoming psychic," Adam commented with a chuckle.

"That can be true, yes. There's already so much excitement and drama in this house," Jacqueline responded.

"Being psychic brings a whole new world of experiences into life. It's gonna be like being born all over and starting a new life, you know," Adam commented as he gave Jacqueline a serious look now.

"But, what if I see or hear something that's gonna shock me. What if I end up in a state of total shock?" Jacqueline asked with a serious frown on her brow.

"If this is your gift then there's no way that you're going to be frightened by what's revealed to you. There's no way that you won't be strong and in control when it's your gift. You will be in control of what's happening to you. Just ask Carminda if you have doubts.

Gosh! This is going to take you to places that you've never been to before," Adam continued with a surprised look in his glowing eyes.

"I must say, you're dealing with this very well. It's almost as if it's your own future that you're talking about. Anyway, I will try to see it in your way," Jacqueline responded as she looked at the setting sun.

"It's gonna be so exciting for Laura to accept this challenge. She sounded excited, but she mustn't back down at any point. This will be good for so many people; her country, her family and her career," Shannon remarked as she sat in her sister's lounge.

"Did she sound excited enough to go through with the offer, no matter what?" Carminda asked with her eyes narrowed in focus.

"Yes. I don't think that even her husband can convince her not to do it," Shannon responded.

"I hope that he's completely over his shock after that abduction jaunt in Greece," Carminda responded.

"I think he's about ready and brave enough to face new adventures in life. He can go with Laura if he's overprotective. It will be adventurous for him as well."

"Then I will leave the convincing part to you. It wasn't too hard for you to convince him to become a private investigator," Shannon remarked with a glint in her eyes.

"So, you're serious about convincing him to let Laura do this?" Carminda asked with a curious look in her eyes.

"Aren't you afraid about the unpredictable anymore?"

"No, I think that either you or one of them will be able to see if something is gonna go wrong," Shannon replied.

Carminda frowned at her sister's confidence.
