River has a fascinating mentality, it definitely keeps your attention. His surrounding cast equally hold their own. the surprising horror elements, combined with quality levity make for a good mix. the setting is a classic one, but brings with it the intrigue of a spy novel. I love it. if I had to make any note it would be to watch out for the occasional run-on sentence. keep up the good work!
While i read this story I could help but get a nostalgic feeling of watching those thriller/horror type of anime, I was absorved in this world that the Author created it's unique, it kind of reminded me of psycho-pass in a way (I don't if that was the intencion) all in all this is a good story with a unique concept and I will be coming back for more so keep the chapters coming Author
You know what? SInce I'm the author, I decided to give myself a nice 5 stars and a review that I hope people will read to familiarise themselves. First of all, I'm also writing Truthful Blabbermouth, go check it out, completely different concept. A fantasy story about a child growing up and meeting the gods. Second, I started writing this novel with a completely different aim. But I was thrown off, and this is what it became. For some reason, what should have been an antagonistic relationship between a devil and a human became a broship. There is also a comedic undertone, because I got some comments of people saying it's funny. I had to add that tag. Well, s**t will soon hit the fan anyway. I wanted to write a real horror story, scary and eerie, but this is my first time (he he), so if you're going to leave a review, be gentle. I won't say I hate my characters (except for Michael, I'll make sure everyone hates Michael), and I will say I like my story. As always, things need polishing, so don't worry about me leaving it all unattended. Anyway, I'm trying to make the diseases as realistic as possible, but I will be making up the drug names because it's easier. Don't worry, I'll explain what they're for. As one of the reviewers said, this is more psychological than horror, but I don't mind. I hope that with time it turns into horror. Soooo, please, leave comments, a review, a power stone if you wanna support and recommend!
I'm leaving a revised review for this novel because after being explained certain things that I had misunderstood I felt like I should fix my review, but I can't edit that one so here's a new review. The setting is very interesting for a horror novel, webnovel doesn't have this tag but I would refer to this as a psychological novel than a horror one. Writing for a horror genre is already difficult but writing for a psychological genre is even more tough. And after realising that what I had misunderstood as overly convoluted writing was the authors intentional writing style (for the first chapter). I thought about it occasionally for several days and came back once in a while to re-read the first chapter. My conclusion: considering the plot (I know of) so far in this novel, the writing style is very fitting. It is my fault for misunderstanding it. The author was very polite to me, so for this review I will show the same politeness to the author by not giving a low rating. But that doesn't mean that I no longer have some of the problems I had before. Based on those things my rating of this novel would be 2.5 to 3 out of 5. I still don't like the characters very much because they all seem somewhat off which makes sense since this is tagged as a horror novel but also doesn't make sense cause all of them work for the mental health department. I said this before as well that maybe all of these people are patients who are delusional and this story is portrayed from their perspective, based on their imagination. But this is just a theory I came up, its not a factual statement or an actual foreshadowing. For me in some areas common sense is completely ignored. Usually horror stories, movies and shows have parts where the characters forget to use their common sense. But in the novel our MC, who we don't even know much about, is suddenly becoming the head of a department regarding mental health. Especially when he was once a patient admitted to the asylum. I made a suggestion that the reader should be given some insight about the MC's qualifications and his general life before he is convicted for arson. But that was just MY suggestion, the author should write their story however they like. All of this stuff is merely my opinion. After being explained several things I felt very guilty for coming off as too strong or forceful. Everyone is allowed to disagree and in the end I just want to say the author should write what the authors feels is best, because this is their work and anything I say will just be my opinion.
The beginning is really intriguing, I didn't know how the main character was going to develop, but he's pretty interesting so far. No real mistakes that I could find, although some of the detailing at the start was toeing the line of enough and too much. The story is interesting, I'm not one to delve into horror or this type of genre, but it is very intriguing and I can appreciate where the author is taking it. Keep up the good work!
You'll be given different characters upfront which will pique your interest. The world design will also hook you up since it will show you a different and unique reading. ------- My opinion for the novel is to put better spacing, especially for paragraphs and dialogs. It is hard to read with the current style IMHO.
The plot is great...👏👏 It is creepy, it scared me at many places...Yes I am scared kitten of family and your story totally scared me a lot.. love the way you wrote some detail point...👏👏 All I will say that your writting style is really good and the horror lover readers will surely get hooked with it instantly...👍 Keep up the good work author...All the best for future 👍👍👍❤️
The beginning was interesting, but I feel a bit lost after that. This is a story that makes one focus a bit more in order to fully understand what's going on. Another thing is that I feel like the pacing is a bit fast plus with the chapters being very details, it was kind of hard to understand. Some of the characters were introduce a bit too fast that at some point I have to ask myself who is this person then go back and reread the chapters. But nonetheless, I love the characters especially Christopher. Why did I imagine him to look like those handsome characters in some manga I read recently? Lol. As for river, there something mysterious about him that makes the story exciting to read. But what I really like is question at the end of each chapters. It rather engaging, making me wonder who's asking the question, at some point I thought it was Christopher. But who knows, maybe there might be a twist. The story have a dark mood to it, but the bickering between the main characters was funny enough to make that mood subside a bit. In overall, the story is fill with a interesting thrilling plot.
