17 Can you tell me your whole story?

"I can only control time, but not the whole universe. My abilities are limited to my surroundings only. I can reserve certain events for a few seconds, beyond that, it is out of my control. I can go to any timeline but I cannot change anything. I tried to reverse the locker room incident as well, but before I could make any breakthrough, it was too late," Soya said. Nancy let that sink in for a bit as Soya nervously looked at her, "Can you tell me your whole story?" She asked.

Soya took a long and deep breath, before starting, "My father was the emperor of Saam Empire. He was always a very generous and kind human being. Looking at his character and his leadership skills, the holy group of saints chose him as the Guardian of Energy. There, five people were given the responsibility of running the world properly. The guardians of Energy, Space, Uncertainty, Time, and Instability were created. And our kingdom used to be a very beautiful and peaceful place.

"At that time, apart from my parents, three more people were made guardians. Among those three, one was a saint, the other one was a common man, and the third guardian was the head of the clan. My mother died when I was five years old. Her death still remains a mystery to this day. No one knows how someone can kill the goddess of time. I've tried several times in the past to go back in her timeline, but I haven't been able to find anything yet.

"I was never able to get too close to her. She was always surrounded by her royal maids and people of different backgrounds. After her death, I was given the responsibility of Time. Everybody opposed it, people were not happy that such a magnanimous responsibility was being given to such a young girl. But because of those saints and my father, this locket was passed on to me from my mother," Soya showed her the locket.

"It protects me from everything and because of this, I can travel through different timelines without any difficulty. Every guardian has this power in one of their belongings. After my mother's death, my father didn't want this locket to go to just any other person, and the saints took a lot of convincing as well. You know, Nancy, it is very difficult to be a princess. I couldn't just go anywhere I liked, in a way, I was imprisoned within the confines of my own palace," Soya looked up at Nancy, who was keenly looking at her, to carry on with her story.
