5 Making Connections (Part 1)

"Kiaaaarrrhhh!!"

The sound a man's scream could be heard coming from a factory in the street. He sounded worse than a pig being slaughtered.

"I'm tel..ling the tru..th ma'am, i do..n't know the pe..rson that killed him", (huff!huff!) the man was breathing heavily while speaking.

"Ma'am? you just hurt my feelings, do i look that old to you?", Maria ask him while holding his head up by pulling his hair.

"No ma'a...m.... i mean aunt.... big sis..ter.... please spare me....", the man begged when he noticed that he had upset the demoness.

"Aright.... recount what happened again to me, so I'll understand why your colleague is lying over there with his head separated from his body....", Maria pointed to the floor not too far from where they were, an headless body could be seen on the floor with cops and forensic scientists inspecting it. She beckoned to one of the detectives there to get her a chair. She sat down with a popcorn in her hand while she listened to the tale that the man was telling.

Everyone in the factory were feeling speechless, while some of them wondered how she could eat in such an environment that reeked of blood and death.

"We were through with our shift for the day....", the man started to recount the train of events.

*****Several hours ago*****

"Hahahaha", the sound of laughter followed by footsteps could be heard as two men approached a room inside a large fabric factory. One looked skinny like a bag of bones with an average height and a round face, while the other looked tanned and quite buff.

"I'm telling you Joseph, he was so shocked when he woke up to find the crooked teeth woman on his bed", The skinny man said to the tanned one.

"Serves him right for drinking too much....hahaha", The tanned man replied with a lengthy laughter.

"Hey Sam, i thought you'd be working another shift again, since you needed money for your wife's delivery", Joseph asked seriously.

"Ah yes, but it turns out that she will be due very soon, so i need to spend more time at home just in case her water breaks, since we cannot afford the BD machine", Sam replied as they both got into the male bathroom to shower.

Wooden walls separated several small spaces meant for showering. They entered two different cubicles that were right beside each other so they could hear each other voices.

The walls that separated them were only high enough to the point of their neck so they could still see each other heads.

~Shhhhuuuuuurrrrrr~

After a few minutes the sound of showering could be heard from inside with faint sounds of conversation and laughter.

*Thud!*

That was the sound of something heavy dropping on the floor.

"Huh? Sam?.... Hey...Sam?.....", Joseph kept calling out to Sam while tapping the wall separating them.... but there was no reply whatsoever.

He placed his ear on the wall but could only hear the sound of the shower running.

'Did he fall on his butt and start crying', he thought to himself, but after a while he banished that thought. He felt something was not right as he kept knocking.

*Knock! Knock!!*

"Hey man, I'm coming in", Joseph tied a towel came out of the cubicle where he was taking his bath and entered the next one where Sam was..... but what he saw was something that would scar him for life.

"Saaaaaaaaaaammmmmmm!!!", Joseph was shocked out of his wits when he saw the headless body of Sam on the bathroom floor with fresh blood pouring out of it and mixing with the shower. He saw Sam's head at the corner of the bathroom about 3metres away from where his body was, which showed that he was decapitated in one go. His scream had already alerted the workers in the factory, and they all started heading towards the bathroom area.

Joseph walked towards the head and picked it up. Looking at the head he could still see the smile on Sam's face, which meant that he died without even knowing how or why.

"Waaahhhhhh!!!!", Joseph held Sam's head as he knelt on the floor screaming and crying.

Everyone got there and met the Joseph holding on to the head of Sam, while crying and muttering some words which sounded like, "I promise I'll take care of her and your child".

Naturally everyone suspected him, so once the authorities arrived they all pointed their fingers at him.

******Back to the present******

Maria finished her popcorn by the time he was through with recounting what happened.

"Wasn't this the same story that you told the others?", Maria asked him in an obviously annoyed tone. She couldn't get any useful information from the story that he just told.

"Yes it was, but..... what i didn't add was the fact that i saw something", Joseph replied with his voice full of uncertainty.

"Do tell.... Now I'm intrigued.", she looked at him with interest on her face.

"Well i don't know if you'll believe me but i'll say it....", he inhaled deeply as he spoke.

"Out with it.... I don't have all day." Maria was getting impatient as he kept beating around the bush.

"I...I...s... sa..w.... TWO HUGE EYES!!....,

they loo...ked so de..monic and i felt like they were star...ing at my soul. They disa...ppeared almost immediately i saw them.", Joseph said with fear written all over his face.

"I can still feel a chill running through my spine anytime i think about it, those weren't the eyes of a human....", Joseph said while shivering.

"Ptoi!", Maria spat out something from her mouth after listening to Joseph talk.

"Damn popcorn..... one of those hard, unchewable grainy things got stuck in my teeth.....", Maria complained bitterly.

Everyone; "..."

Joseph; "...." (did she hear a single word of what i just said? My friend just died, at least act like you give a damn)

"I would like to believe you.... but do you yourself even believe what you just said...", Mariam asked him.

"I'm telling the truth..... It's something that if anyone is faced with, they will not be able to forget..... even if it happened for just a second....", Joseph kept trying to convince them.

"You were pro.....",

*Ring! Ring!! Ring!!!*

before she could finish her sentence a call came in.

"Hmmm?",

she checked who the caller was; and was shocked to find out who was calling.

"Calling me while you're on an investigation, no wonder you weren't able so solve the last two because you were probably out picking chicks.... ", Maria grinned as she taunted the person on the video call.

~"Shut the fuck up.... i only wanted to ask if you were having any luck on your side.... what I'm getting from my place is really messed up."~ the voice replied.

"You're going to have to share, if not I won't tell you anything...", she answered back while turning the camera over to where the corpse was.

The person on the other side of the call was obviously Philip, who was a bit surprised to see a cleanly severed headless body.

~"Tch!", Philip snorted as he felt that she just wanted to find out if he had more information that her or he didn't....."I only feel like there's is a gang or a cult at work here because the wife of the victim over here keeps talking about the eyes she saw.... She was even scared of my eyes when she hasn't seen your devilish looking eyes yet"~ Philip replied as he tried to mock her on the phone, but he was greeted with silence.

He looked at her through the call and saw her contemplating about something, 'looks like i won this round....', he thought to himself.

"Did you just say Eyes?" She asked him with a look of uncertainty.

~"Yes....", Philip replied her, wondering why she was asking him that. 'I must have really hit a nerve this time.... yes, take that bitch....', "huh? come again....."~ Philip missed what she said while he was lost in his childish thoughts.

"Why do i always have to repeat myself to you?.... birdbrain", Maria threw insults at him for not listening.

Philip; "..."

"I said that I'm coming over to your crime scene", After saying that she hung up the phone before Phillip could reply.

"This is getting interesting....", Maria grinned, then pointed at Joseph, "You're coming with me..."
