2 CHAPTER :2

I calmly placed ,my fork down as I eyed my brothers, and asked the question I know we all dreaded .

"where is Aiden ?" I muttered softly , although I knew they heard me by how their bodies had stiffened , their jaws clenched as they squeezed the life out of the poor cutlery.

" His gone " Ethan slowly whispered tears prickling his eyes as he muttered the words nobody wanted to hear , he hurriedly left the table , his dinner barely touched , as he scurried to a place he could possibly be more vulnerable , my face softened and tears threatened to leave my eyes as I focused my attention back on Nicolai and Carlos ," what does he mean by 'his gone' "guys

Carlos cleared his throat and realised a sickening chuckle " he means that he could possibly be dead at this point " Nicolai gave him a disapproving look at the way he approached the situation ,Carlos smiled never flinching from Nicolai's intense glare , as he too left the table with parting words that didn't sit to well with me " don't worry sis , we will probably be joining him sooner than you can say ihavethehottestbrotherintheworldwhohappenstobecarlos,theonlyguythatcanpullofbeinginnothingbutanapron. goodnight ."

I shifted in my seat realising it was only me and Nicolai that had remained on the table , the air growing tense as the silence ate away at our thoughts , until I decided to finally breake it , " how are you still alive ? "

Nicolai looked to be questioning himself into not telling me anything , but when he started speaking I knew I was going to get the answers I wanted .

" How am I to explain it to you ? " he chuckled .... I raised an eyebrow motioning him to continue "I'm not human , neither of us are , Ethan healed me ." He finally blurted out .

" we cant be one of them " I whispered huskily , the stories that our father told us clouding my thoughts .

"well we are , sorry to disappoint , but your one of them "

"its already to late for that brother " I hissed .

"Okay, will you let me explain everything to you or not , our species is the most endangered so far , " wait they are more creatures out there ?"

Nicolai smiled softly lips pursed , giving me an answer to my question .

" now shush let me explain this to you and get over with it , Early witches were people who practiced witchcraft, using magic spells and calling upon spirits for help or to bring about change. Most witches were thought to be pagans doing the Devil's work. Many, however, were simply natural healers or so-called "wise women" and one of them was our mother , she came from a long line of pure blood witches , until she fell in love with a man , a mortal .

Our kind was tortured , we were either hanged , burned alive or drowned to death , these humans" he chuckled , "very creative really .

We were hunted like the animals they wanted us to be , and we did whatever we could to protect our own , mother knew what she was doing when she married a mortal , she knew the risk she was taking , but she had to do it for our coven, she believed this could fix everything , even though it didn't she wanted to at least cause a stability to both worlds , but it didn't go as planned as you possibly know , now that she's dead .

"chaos seems to wonder the kingdom now , a war has been brewing among the supernatural and humans ,for centuries and seems to get closer and closer to its due point , we want justice to what was done to our kind , but they , the humans want to control us , use us for their selfish needs .

And for a matter of fact I do not wish to die a horrid death so something has to be done ."

" and what's that Nicolai "

" I don't know , but what I do know is that mother wouldn't want this for us , Clarissa , they tried to kill us the night in the castle , I don't know how they found out what we are or who they are but they wanted all of us gone , dead .

And if it wasn't for Aiden I dont think either one of us would have made it out , but this , this is war ."

" so you're saying I'm a witch , I think I would have noticed by now if I was one , don't you think ?"

"well, you do have philipods in your blood , the drug stops your cells from mutating ,keeping you as human as possible ,you've had it in you since you were 5 that's when your powers started manifesting quicker than any of us in fact really impressive, mother was very proud of her little girl , " he smiles weakly and says "she's the only reason we were able to keep the secret this long , but at a point she indulged us into excessive training its like she knew something catastrophic was bound to happen, and she was preparing us for it , you were to join us , soon enough ,on you're 19 birthday but then she died .

So me and the guys didn't plan on telling you anything until then , but , as you can see fate seems to have other things planned ."

"what happens now are we going to stay in here forever ?"

"no , no , ofcourse not , will be leaving tomorrow by foot , at nightfall so we are harder to track down , were going to go to the safest place I know the supernatural protection program , S.P.P for short , there you'll learn how to control your powers and we could find people that will help us join the fight , so at least were prepared for anything that could be thrown at us .

" ooh that seems exciting " note the sarcasm .

" This is really intense ." I muttered placing my cold hands on my head that was starting to overheat from this newfound information .

" don't worry ,sis , I know its too much to take in but hang in there , for mum at least , "

we'll she's dead soo, I don't know how long I can "hang in "of course I didn't say it out loud cause I'm possibly the only child with sensible humour in this family .

Nicolai gave me the biggest hug and I felt safe and at peace for those mere seconds , untill the warmth of his body faded away and I looked up to see him glancing at me with the most , sympathetic eyes and warmest smile "

"lets get you to bed princess " he kissed my forehead and interwined our hands as we went off to sleep "

I wonder how well tomorrow is going to work out .
