8 You Kept It

(Athena's POV)

I listened to Storm's directions to his place and arrived in about twenty minutes. "Jered take a sweep around the place, Julian keep watch." I ordered them. They nodded and we all got out of their car.

Storm and I entered his place and It was a really nice place. He left me in the living room and went down a hall. While he was gone, I took the opportunity to look around.

On top of the fire place, he had a couple of photos of him with some man. He actually looked happy. I looked around some more and saw a small chest on the coffee table.

I'm a very nosey person so I went ahead and opened it. The chest was full of medals and it had some army patches. One had his last name on it. 'So he was in the Army' I thought.

"What are you looking at?" a voice asked behind me. I jumped when the voice spoke. I held my hand to my chest trying to calm down. I turned around to see Storm with a duffel bag and a couple of boxes.

"Dude you scared the shit out of me." I said still trying calm my heart down. He started to laugh and said "sorry" as he walked toward the fire place. He started to take down the pictures and put them in boxes. I looked back at the chest and I knew I had to ask. "So you were in the Army?"

He came up next to me and took the chest and said "yeah." I turned back to him and said "That's interesting to know since I was in the Army too." He looked up from the box and said "Really? That's pretty cool."

I walked towards him and asked "How long were you there for?" "I was practically raised there." he said as he picked up a picture of him and the man and showed it to me. He then continued. "After you saved me from being tied up, this man found me and raised me. Come to find out he was a Sergeant Major in the Army so I was with him on base all the time. I basically became an army brat and at a young age I joined the army. It didn't take long for me to earn the title of Sergeant. I left about three years ago."

"Really you were a Sergeant? Me too." I said. He chuckled and said "Damn that's badass. How long were you there for?" he asked as he took the photo and put it back in the box. "I was there for five years. I made Sergeant after only in less than a year. I literally just came back like a couple of days ago." I replied.

He chuckled again. "Wow after only over a year you made Sergeant and your a girl, that's awesome." I giggled at his comment. He finished packing his box and put it on the couch.

"Oh this is for you." he said while grabbing another small box and handing it to me. I gave him a confused look and I opened the box. I was in shock. It was my Exceed doll, Angel. "What? How did yo--? You kept it?" I said in disbelief. "Of course I did. It was a gift from my savior." he replied. I smiled at him and he smiled back.

Our moment was interrupted by a knock at the door. I went to the door and looked through the peep hole. It was Julian. I opened the door and said "What is it?" "Jered says people wearing all black are near by and that by the looks of it some were human with guns and some were wolves." I nodded at what he said and looked at Storm.

"We have to go now." I said to him and he nodded. He was about to pick up his stuff, when he suddenly remembered something. He ran down the hall real quick and came back with a gun. He checked to see if it was loaded and then placed the back of his pants, covering it with his shirt. He picked up his duffel bag and the box and we went to the car.

He put his stuff in the trunk and Jered and Julian came running and we all hopped into the car. I turned on the car and drove off and started to head home.

On the way back home, my stomach started to growl. Jered looked at me with a shocked face and said "Dammnn." I chuckled a little and said "shut up. I hadn't eaten anything." I looked out the window and saw there was a Wendy's. I instantly turned into the drive through, causing all the guys to hold on tight.

"What the fuck Athena?" Julian said and I laughed and said "I'm buying dinner. Now shut up or you guys won't get anything." They all instantly shut their mouths. I ordered four Baconator meals and some frosty's. I paid it and gave the food to Jered to hold on to. He tried to get some fries out of the bag but I slapped his hand.

"OW! What the hell dude." he cried out. "No food until we get home." I said to him with a serious look. "Yes Mom" he said in sarcasm, causing everyone to laugh in the car.
