27 Unexpected Visit

(Athena POV)

Our little intimate moment of memories were interrupted by a knock at the front door. I became very cautious. The pack has a secret knock to notify others that they were in the pack, but the knock we heard wasn't it.

I got out of the bed and went downstairs. I grabbed the gun I have strapped under the kitchen table and checked if it was loaded. It was so I pointed it towards the front door as I slowly walked to it.

There was another knock on the door and I reached the handle. I opened the door while hiding the gun behind the door. There stood a older man with a duffel bag. "How can I help you?" I asked while looking at him up and down.

He looked at me suspiciously and replied "I came to see Storm." Once he said that I took the gun from behind the door and pointed at him. At the same time, he took out a gun from his back and pointed it at me. "Who are you?" I asked and he replied "Who are YOU?".

I was about to say something, when Storm with a shirt on came from behind and said " Athena stop." He put his hand on my gun and I lowered my gun. He turned to the man, who also lowered his gun. Storm then stood in a saluting stance and said "Sergeant Major."

The older man chuckled and said "at ease soldier and give your old man a hug." Storm chuckled and walked over and hug the man. I put the gun in the back of my pants and stood there confused.

Storm and the older man seperated from their embrace and looked at me. Storm wrapped his arm around the man's shoulder and they walked in the house, closed the door and walked towards me. "Athena, this is the man that took care of me after you saved me, Sergeant Major Jack D' Amo."

So this is the man that took care of him. "Jack, this is Athena King, a fellow soldier, the girl who saved me when I was younger before I met you, and my mate." Storm then continued. I stood in my saluting stance and said "Sergeant Major." "At ease soldier" he replied and I stepped out of my stance and walked back to the kitchen table to put my gun back.

I walked back to them and he asked " So Ms. King, What was your rank in the Army?". I was going to answer, but Storm beat me to it and said "She was a Sergeant too. She received the rank in less than a year." Hearing this, he looked at me up and down and smiled. "Ah so your the girl the general has been ranting about. The general was always talking about how a young girl made Sergeant in less than a year. My dear you have impressed a lot of people, including me."

I was stunned at first, but still managed to say "Thank you sir." The man chuckled and said "Dear you don't have to call me sir. You're family now so just call me Jack." Wow okay I guess I'm family now to him. The thought of it made me smile. "Uh Sure thing Jack"

Storm walked towards and wrapped his hand around my shoulders. "So Pops you hungry? We were just about to make brunch." Storm asked. Jack started to think about it then said "Sure.Why not? It was a long trip." I nodded and I walked into the kitchen.

I opened the fridge and took out some beef and other ingredients I needed to make breakfast burgers. Storm grabbed Jack's bag and put it on the kitchen table. Then Storm made Jack sit at the kitchen counter. I opened the package of beef and put it in a big bowl. "Storm can you hand me the bread crumbs and eggs for me?" I asked and he nodded and went into the fridge. He handed me the stuff I needed and started to put it in the beef.

I mixed the meat up with the ingredients real nice and started to shape them into burgers. Storm and turned on the stove and one by one I gave him the burgers for him to cook.

While Storm was cooking the burgers, I got out the rest of the ingredients to cut up for the burgers. I grabbed a knife from the drawer and began to cut. After cutting the ingredients, I grabbed the burger buns from the cupboard and placed them on plates. Strom placed the cooked burgers on the buns and I put the toppings I had cut on top of them.

"Here you go." I said to Jack as I placed a plate in front of him. He smiled at me and said "Let's see if you could impress me with your cooking skills now." He took the burger in his hand and took a bite out of it. I honestly felt like I was being judged by Chef Ramsey. Jack slowly swallowed the bite he was chewing and then stared at me intensely.

I literally held my breath while waiting for his judgement. Then a smile appeared on his face and he said "That is by far one of the best burgers I have ever tasted." After hearing his judgement, I breathed out a sigh of relief. Storm chuckled and wrapped his arm around my waist. He handed me one of the plates and we happily ate together while talking and getting to know each other a little more.

After we finished and cleaned up everything we all sat in the living room. "So Jack what brings you hear? Storm said as leaned back in his seat and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. " I actually came to visit. I was forced to take some time so why not visit my favorite son.I am staying in a hotel not that far from here, but I wanted to see you first."

Hearing that he was going to stay in a hotel, made me my heart ache a little. I don't know why though. Before Storm could say anything, I said "That's non sense. I won't allow that. You are family. You can stay here with us." Storm and Jack were taken back by my offer and to be honest me too. "Are you sure? I don't want to be a bother?" he asked.

"Nonsense.You are always welcome here." I replied. Man why the fuck can't I shut my mouth. "I'll take your bag to your room."

I stood up from the couch and grabbed his bag from the kitchen table and went upstairs to Storm's room. I put Jack's bag on the bed and grabbed a couple of Storm's clothes from his closet to make room for Jack's clothes and took it to my room and placed them in my closet. I have no clue what the hell is going on with me.

I walked back downstairs in the living and said "Okay all set. Your bag is your room and I made some room in the closet for you." I sat back down with Storm on the couch and looked at dumbfounded while I just looked at Jack who had a smile on his face.

"So Storm as I was saying, I have something I need to talk to you about. It's another reason why I came to visit, but I don't know if Athena knows about your situation." Jack said and Storm snapped out of his trance. "Uh yeah she knows about me being part Vampire." he answered and Jack nodded.

"Well then Storm, I have to explain something to you. It's about your life and your ancestors." he said and Strom looked confused but still answered "O--kay?" The Jack continued " Um Storm, I don't know how to say this, but Storm you are a.....prince."
