36 The Love Of My Life

(Diamond's POV)

I can't believe Danny is actually here. I missed him so much. I thought I would have never seen him again. After Danny finished answering Nathan's questions, we just sat next to each other, staring at one another in disbelief.

"I can't believe I'm seeing you again. I thought that they killed you." He said as he caressed my cheek. I tilted my head slightly and asked "Why did you think I was dead?" He stopped caressing my cheek and lifted something from around his neck.

He held it up to show me and I realized what it was. It was my necklace that had my engagement ring on it. "When you didn't return, Alpha Blade sent out people to look for you guys. I was apart of the group. We searched the cave you were supposed to be at and we found all the dead bodies. On the ground I found this covered in blood. I thought they killed you. Since we were hiding our relationship from the pack, I couldn't even mourn. I was devastated. I kept this as a memory of you."

I started to tear up a little. I felt so bad he had to suffer like that. "I'm sorry." I said in between my sobs. "You don't have to be sorry. As long as your alive and I'm here with you, I will be perfectly fine." he said as he tried to put the necklace back on my neck, but I stopped him. I took the necklace from his hand and took out the engagement ring. "Danny that's not where you put this." I said as I slid the ring on to my left hand ring finger.

He smiled at me and I smiled back. I was happy to have him back with me. Our moment was interrupted by a slight cough from the doorway of the room. Alpha Jacob and Jered were standing in the doorway. I don't know why but I got nervous. I felt like they were going to take Danny away from me.

Without even thinking, I stood up from my chair and stared intensely at them. "No! You are not taking him away from me. Yes he did something wrong, but it wasn't like he had a choice. Alpha Blade always forced him to do things he didn't want to do. Please Jered don't let him take Danny away from me. He's everything to me." I blurted out slightly tearing up.

Jered looked at me and then at Alpha Jacob and Alpha gave him a slight nod. Jered walked over to me and put his hands on my shoulder. "Diamond we won't take him away from you. It's obvious that he doesn't care about his pack or Alpha Blade. As long as he is not a threat to the pack and he is willing to join us, we won't take him." he said before he pulled me into a hug.

We broke away from our hug and he turned to Danny. "Now are you willing to leave your pack and become one of us to be with my sister?" he asked in a serious tone. Danny stood from his seat and he answered without hesitation. "I would do anything to be with her. I would give my life for her. So yes I am willing to leave my pack to join your pack."

Jered seemed pleased with Danny's answer and he held his hand out. Danny held his hand out and shook his hand. "Okay now that that is settled, Diamond we need to go home and explain this to our parents." Jered said as he pointed to my engagement ring. I smiled and nodded. I grabbed hold of Danny's hand and I dragged him out of the room.

Jered followed us as we went outside of the house and into Jered's car. I sat in the back seat on Danny's lap, not caring what my brother thinks. "Diamond you do notice that your brother is here right?" he whispered into my ear and I chuckled. "I don't care what he thinks. He is probably like this with his wife." I said loud enough for Jered to hear. I could hear Jered let out an irritated sigh and I started to laugh.

After about thirty minutes, we arrived at the house. We all got out of the car and walked to the front door. Jered look at me as if asking 'are you ready?' and I have him a small nod. Jered opened the door of the house and we walked in. 'This is it' I said to myself.
