61 The Bullet

Gordon, Charlotte, and Sara sat around the outdoor dining table, watching Bella splash and play on the shallow end of the swimming pool. It a week later and Sara has agreed last time to come again so that Bella could play in the pool.

The three of them had talked about various subjects that evening but Sara knew they wanted more from her.

"Is it your goal that I bring Bella back to the Zhou family, correct?" Sara asked suddenly.

Gordon and Charlotte looked at each other but remained silent. Finally, Charlotte spoke, "They very much want to see both you and Bella. For many reasons. We'll never force it on you though. At the very least, Gordon and I would like to be friends with you. And we hope Bella could grow up knowing us."

"What are their reasons for seeing me? They didn't want to see a lot of me when James and I were together." Sara said with a touch of bitterness.

"They would like to apologize for that, firstly. James's death changed all of us, Sara. They would like the chance to welcome both Bella and yourself into our family. The way they should've done years ago. We messed up and none of us want to pretend otherwise. If you need to blame us for his death, I understand. I blamed myself for five years until I worked through some hard feelings." Gordon spoke up.

"Grandma Stella's Birthday is soon. We're planning a party to celebrate. If you wanted to come then you could, but you don't have to." Charlotte said.

"Will you still want to be friends with me if I don't want to see them?" Sara asked Charlotte.

"Of course I'll still be your friend!" Charlotte exclaimed.

"Then, I'll go to the party. But I'm not promising anything further." Sara said.

"Understood." Charlotte agreed.

That night in another part of the city, Amy was stepping out of her shower, preparing for bed when all of a sudden there was a loud sound of glass shattering. She rushed out into her living room all the while thinking that running toward the noise might not be the right choice. What greeted her was a broken window with what looked like a bullet hole shot through.

Amy felt weak in her knees as adrenaline slammed through her. Calvin's men still hadn't found the person who left the note, but it had been two weeks so she began to let her guard down in her apartment and feel safe again. Well she felt anything but safe now!

She grabbed her phone and dialed Calvin, when she heard pounding on her door.

Oh no way was she answering the door!

"Calvin! Please hurry! Someone is trying to get in my apartment and they shot through my window!" Amy screamed.

"Amy! Open the door. It's the security team I have protecting you. I'm already on my way. Are you okay?" Calvin asked.

"I am not okay! Someone shot into my home!" She cried as she crossed the room to let in the protection team.

Four men in all black immediately ran inside her apartment.

"Are you alright, Miss Ling?" One of them asked.

"What's going on? How did someone get close enough to shoot through the window if all of you are out there? She asked.

Before they could answer, there was someone else knocking at her door. One of the bodyguards opened the door. It was her neighbor from the apartment next door.

"Hey is Amy there?" The woman asked. Mrs. Bai was old enough to be her grandmother and was always kind.

"I'm here!" Amy called out. The bodyguards parted for Mrs. Bai to enter.

"I was just coming home and found this taped to my door, but it has your name on it. I brought it right over." She said, passing an envelope to Amy, and leaving.

She opened the envelope and read the note:

"Miss Ling,

You failed to head our first warning. The next bullet won't miss. Stay away from Calvin Zhou."

Amy ran to the kitchen sink where she vomited. Someone wanted to kill her! And they'd gotten to her despite the security team that she didn't even know existed until ten minutes ago.

She felt warm arms holding her from behind, brushing her hair away gently.

"I'm here. Amy, I've got you." Calvin comforted.

"Who is after me?!" Amy cried as she turned in his arms. He held her tightly against him.

"I don't know but I won't let them. You're coming with me tonight and never living here again. I won't gamble with your life." Calvin said against her ear.

"Sir, we found the bullet lodged in the kitchen cabinet. It's a long range caliber." One of the bodyguards told Calvin.

"You mean a sniper?" Calvin asked.

"Yes sir. You may be looking at someone with a military background." He answered.

"A hired gun?" Calvin asked.

"Most likely, unless you've offended the actual shooter. But someone placed the note around the same time the shot was fired based on the time frame her neighbor gave. You're looking for at least two people. One of the men went to check the footage of the other apartment to see if we get anything on who left the note." The guard explained.

"They know you're watching her." Calvin said.

"Yes, the note was placed in another location and the bullet came from another location. They were trying to avoid suspicion." The guard answered.

"You're the best team on the black market. What organization would be as capable?" Gordon asked, almost sure he knew the answer.

"The Black Hand." He answered.

Gordon was taking a shower later that night when Charlotte pulled the glass door open and stepped inside.

Gordon was pleasantly surprised. This was new.

Charlotte lathered her hands and then started rubbing all over his body.

"What—" Gordon began.

"Let me do this for you." She said in a sultry voice. She continued to wash him until she came to his lower region. She got down on her knees and took his already hard length in her mouth. He looked down at her, watching the water from the shower head running over her as she stared up at him with her big, sparkling eyes.

She kept taking him, all the way to the back of her throat. She moved her mouth up and down the length, faster now. He threw is head back and moaned.

"Charlotte, I'm getting close if you want to let go." He warned her. She kept on, increasing her speed. He was overcome with heat that burst from him and she took it in her mouth. He fell back against the shower panting. She stood and kissed him, pushing and pulling their tongues in a dance desire. His hands moved to her breasts that now were larger and more sensitive due to pregnancy. His hands rubbing them and exploring them, rubbing around her nipples. Then his hands slid down to his waist, to her inner thighs, then finding her most private place, he gently rubbed around the outside of it, flicked her clitoris. She screamed his name, tearing her lips from his, arching her back as her head went back. His mouth found her neck and collarbone while his fingers explored inside of her. He could feel her flying apart, and finally wave upon wave came over as she screamed, "Yes! Oh Gordon Yes! Don't stop! Please don't stop! Ohhh!"

He quickly pulled his hands away as she groaned in frustration. He placed his tip inside her and pushed it all the way in. She screamed once more, her body arching and moving as the sensations gripped her and pushed her over the edge. Finally, she fell limp against his chest.

"That was a wonderful surprise." he whispered in her ear.

"You're a wonderful man. Have I said that recently?" She asked.

"It's always nice to hear. I love you, Charlotte." He said against her ear.

"And I love you." Charlotte said.
