"Watch where you're going, you ugly bitch!"

"Oh my god! Even with her four eyes, the slut still can't find your way?"

"She's either blind or totally dumb. Oh, wait. I guess she's both!"

"Nah. She's just probably itching to get some of that action."

"Do you think she's into illegal drugs now, too?"

"You know what? I wouldn't be surprised, to be honest."

Endless bouts of mocking laughter from the entire school body…

The sneers and ridiculous gossips that only got worse with each passing day…

The not-so-funny pranks and "unintentional" shoves that will surely leave ugly bruises, if not wounds, on her skin…

Welcome to the everyday life of Maggie Smith.

But things weren't always like this.

It feels as though it had been eons ago.

Maggie Smith hadn't always been a social outcast and a recluse. Once upon a time, our dear Maggie had a normal, happy life. She had a loving family and lots of friends. She could not pinpoint the exact moment when everything in her life changed. All she knew was that she was so excited to start her freshman year of high school. Then when the first day of school rolled out, the whispers and the mean stares pointed at her started. It didn't even take a day for the different rumors about her to spread.

It started with the rumor that she had multiple partners back in middle school. From there, a "schoolmate" unabashedly shared their "opinion". It wasn't a simple opinion. It was slander. According to that source with "full knowledge" regarding the situation, it wasn't true that Maggie had multiple boyfriends back in middle school. She didn't have lots of boyfriends. She was actually seducing the boyfriends of other girls! She was stalking them, harassing them, and even used sexual acts to lure them into her web.

They said she was not even a virgin before she started middle school. As absurd as these rumors go, no one even seemed to doubt these false accusations against her. Well, maybe they did but they didn't really care all that much. It's funny and sad how social hierarchies work. All these teenagers knew was that there was a very hot topic in school and they had to join in on the "fun" just to be a part of the so-called "in" crowd.

Having said that, the accusations against her transformed into some next-level bullshit. As though it was not enough that the whole student body was disgusted of her, the perpetrators even pulled teachers and the school faculty into the messy picture. It was said that she liked them aged and refined, and so, she would often seduced approach her male teachers and try to seduce them with her pretty looks and her young age. According to them, there was one innocent teacher she had approached for some trivial matter about academics. When Maggie noticed other people passing by, she screamed, thrashed around, and direly cried for help. The teacher was "caught" and was fired for harassing and molesting an underage student. His teaching license was revoked and it even greatly affected his marriage.

When this rumors spread, all the male teachers in school avoided Maggie like the plague. It wasn't that they firmly believed the news but for them, it was better to be safe than sorry. The female teachers however, were repulsed by Maggie's indecent and slutty behavior.

How can someone so young be so wayward?

Finally, everyone concluded that she was a nymphomaniac. For them, this reasoning makes total sense as to why Maggie had such whorish ways for a young lady. She had a constant urge for sex which is why she sells her body and her services to just about anyone. If you can pay the right price, she'll be all wet and needy by the shed or in an abandoned classroom back in the old school building. Sometimes, she'll even give it for free!

That was when Maggie's life started to fall apart.

The students started picking on her. She could handle the taunts and jeers. However, as if noticing that she didn't spare them any attention, her oppressors got physical. From there, the bullying got worse.

It got so much worse that the disgusting rumors spread throughout their small community and even reached the ears of her parents.

Her mom and dad started fighting and arguing a lot.

They didn't want such a sinner of a daughter.

There was no heart-to-heart talk between them whatsoever. It was just a rather abrupt and unexpected confrontation. That day, Maggie went home looking dreary. Her bullies wanted to play one-sided rough housing and she was the unfortunate target. As a result, her uniform was all crumpled and had tears in some parts. Her hair was a mess, there were smudges of dirt on her face, and there was even a bruise on her knee.

Her father swept a glance at his daughter, examining her current state from head to foot and back. All it took was one look before a mighty and resounding slap hit her face full force. The sound echoed through the halls, bouncing off the walls.

Shocked beyond words, Maggie couldn't even utter a single word. Her cheek stings and she can feel a bruise forming. The waterworks started. All the pent-up emotion – mostly pain and hatred bubbled up from inside her, quickly forming into tears of anguish.

Her mother stood silently by the side. There was no sign of pity or surprise on her pretty face. What was prominent was the judging glare she was giving her daughter. Aren't families supposed to stick up for one another? Then why does it seem like her own parents are the first ones to throw her off the cliff?

"I deeply regret to have fathered a filthy inbred like you. If only I could throw you out, I would, with a doubt, do so!" Her father spat, eyes a little red with rage. There were little angry veins popping up on his neck and forehead as well.

"Don't worry, Dad." She called him sarcastically. "I'm turning 18 by the end of the month. I'll be out of your face soon enough."

At this point, there was nothing that could patch up their happy home. Since, rather than their own child, her parents preferred to trust and believe those unjustified rumors that her blabbermouths of haters spread against her, there was no reason as to why Maggie should even try to reconcile.

They had a falling out.

It's simple as that.

Things that fell out can never be recovered. Broken relationships cannot be fixed. There's already too much hurt and damage done during the process and she didn't want to relive those moments.

Maggie couldn't really blame anyone. Things just happened and in a flash, her life was turned upside down. There was nothing else she could do. The more she tries to clear her name, the more other people will push her further into the depths of despair.

But don't get her wrong.

She may have given up and allowed the things around her to continue happening, but the resentment she had buried deep into her heart remains. It will someday sprout into a bloody red rose, completely covered with sharp thorns.

She's become a very vengeful person and one day…

One day, she will surely make them pay!
