112 We will Remain Like This

When I opened my eyes once again, it was morning time. Slowly, I rose from the couch, rubbing my neck as it ached from my bad sleeping posture that resulted from me sleeping on the couch. I rubbed my eyes and yawned, looking over at the large bed in the room. The bed sheet wasn't neatly done and Luna was no where to be found, which led me to believe that she must've already woke up and left the room.

I glanced over at the coffee table where we were at yesterday night. On the table top, the two wine glasses and shot glasses were still where we had left them. In addition, the bottles of alcohol were still out as well.

I sighed as I felt a sharp pain in my head, feeling somewhat nauseous. I felt a decline in appetite and in general, I didn't feel as if my body was in its best condition. This I attributed to the alcohol I drank last night. I shook my head in order to try and shake off the disgusting feeling I had and walked over to the bathroom in hopes that I could wash my face and freshen up.

I entered the bathroom, and oddly enough, the lights were on. This bathroom was way larger than the one in my room, which when combined with how spacious the hotel room was, led me to believe that this room must be a tier or two higher than the one I lived in. Anyways, I approached the sink and stared at myself in the mirror. I wasn't surprised to see how pale my face was, but I know that after a bit, I should be able to recover.

I washed my face with cold water in order to refresh myself. The cold droplets of water splashed against my face, sending a sudden shock through my body. However, that is what I wanted since the shock was able to revitalize every part of my body, awakening me up truly for the first time.

With water still dripping down on my face, I realized that there was actually the sound of water splashing nearby me. I looked to my right and discovered that the door leading into the shower and bathing room was opened, and peering inside, I saw that there was plenty of water vapor. Soon, the water vapor parted slightly, allowing me to discover that someone was actually using the walk-in shower.

I couldn't move my eyes away from the view as my heart was captivated by her. I could feel my heart rapidly pounding in my chest and my face gradually becoming warmer as more and more blood rushed through my body. After a bit, her eyes glanced over in my direction, and the two of us made eye contact. Luna didn't say anything out of shock, but I immediately exited the bathroom and closed the door behind me.

I gasped for air as I leaned against the closed bathroom. My face was still hot and red, but because of that, I was brought to attention the numerous droplets of water that was still on my damp face as they slowly crawled and made their way down due to gravity. My heart continued to pound in my chest, causing the bumping noise to echo in my ear that was also quite warm from blood. I began breathing deeply, trying to use breathing to restrain myself. Gradually, my heart rate returned to normal as every physical reaction calmed down for me.

After about ten minutes, the bathroom door opened once again, and Luna emerged from it with a simple towel around her body once again. When she saw me, there was a smile on her face, but I no longer felt as if she was going to try what she did yesterday. Instead, she calmly walked over to me, throwing her arms around me as she rested her head in my chest.

"I won't do what you don't like," she whispered. "But can you please stay with me today?"

I looked down and at that lonely smile on her face. It would appear that she was no longer after a sexual interaction, but rather a physical companionship. Like before, she wants my presence to be around her, so... even though I know this will cause a certain degree of pain in the future when we say our goodbyes, I still wanted to stay here with her.

I brought my arms around her, pulling her tighter into my embrace. Her body was extremely soft and still pretty warm to touch after her hot shower. It also had a sweet fragrance to it, possibly the body wash that she used. Mixed within that fragrance was another scent, one of a flower that I had forgotten the name of. However, it was extremely soothing, but oddly enough, somewhat sad to remember about.

I didn't say anything as we embraced because no words could better convey the message that I yearn to send to her through this simple embrace. The feelings that I hold for her that's impossible for me to formulate into words at the moment was conveyed to her through my warmth, and from her, I reciprocated something similar.

She's the exact opposite of me, always soaring freely in the sky and venturing about. For me, I'm always locked away in this secluded prison island of mine. However, even then, we still had something similar between the two of us: we both get lonely easily. That's why we needed a physical interaction to signify to the other's and our own heart that we're not alone. That someone else is there with us. However, the physical interactions between us will forever be limited to a simple embrace or a holding of hands.

There will never be anything more intimate than an embrace for the benefit of both her and I. Our relationship must not progress any further and must remain stagnant. We cannot become any closer than this, so I must cut off any fantasies of her that might arise in the future. We must be innocent. Nothing must happen between us and nothing will ever happen between us.

After sharing that embrace for a minute, I slowly allowed her to escape from my arms. However, she lingered about as she kept her arms around my shoulder and neck. She gazed into my eyes with a smile on her face, one that seemed to be a smile of acceptance. However, I wasn't entirely sure. The only thing I know is that the way she gazed at me... it was quite pleasant to be the recipient for me.

"You mind if I take a shower?" I asked her as she walked over to her suitcase to retrieve clothing for her to get dressed in.

"Go ahead," she said, smiling as she remained focused on picking out her outfit.

With her consent, I made my way over to the restroom and entered the separate showering and bathing room. I then started to undress, unbuttoning my shirt and removing my pants before placing them in the small basket that was elevated on the wall so that the clothes remain dry if the floor were to become wet.

Then, I entered the walk-in shower and closed the glass door behind me. The black-tiled floor in this walk-in shower was still wet from Luna's showering session earlier and the fragrance of her shampoo and body wash still lingered about.

I turned the water on and allowed the warm water to run down my body. It was quite the comforting feeling and further alleviated my headache. After rinsing my body in the shower, I looked down at the floor in search of the body wash and shampoo. It would appear that the bathing essentials provided for this room was of a higher quality than the ones in my room. These bottles were actually branded.

When I finally finished showering, I exited the walk-in shower, feeling even more refreshed than after washing my face with cold water. I dried myself with one of the folded towels and quickly dressed myself in the clothing that I had worn before. Then, I reached for the door handle that led out of the separate showering area.

Once I entered the washroom where the large mirror and sink counter was, I was greeted by a surprising guest. It was someone that I haven't seen in quite sometime. It was someone who had caused me plenty of troubles in the past. However, his presence no longer proved irksome to me.

Ralus greeted me with a large smile on his face. In addition, he was dressed in a long coat, which when combined with his appearance, made him look as if he was a model. However, that's not important. His appearance was so sudden that it surprised me, leaving me silent as I stared at him with widened eyes. I didn't know how he got here and how long he's been waiting.

"Don't worry," he said with a smile on his face. "She can't hear us."

"Why're you here?" I asked him cautiously. "And how did you get in here?"

"I have my ways," he said, sticking his hands into the pockets of his pants. "Besides, how's everything going for you?"

"Alright..." I responded.

"That's good," he nodded. "That's good..." He then softly chuckled as he shook his head almost as if in disbelief. "Pretty cruel isn't it?" he asked, looking over at me. "That someone like that would face such a horrible fate..."

"Yeah," I whispered as I lowered my head.

"Really makes one question," Ralus continued. "What's the difference between angels and devils? Both can be so cruel and merciless... Alevian," he said, looking me in the eye. "A field of white flowers is no garden at all."

"Huh?"

He placed both hands on my shoulders as he gazed into my eyes in a serious manner.

"A garden is only beautiful when the flowers are of a variety of vibrant colors," he said. "Appreciate the time you have left with her, and..." He sighed as he opted to not finish his sentence and retracted his hands from my shoulders. "Never mind. You wouldn't need me to remind you." Then, he smiled as he looked over towards me. "See you next time."

Then, he seemed to fade away from my sight in thin air, disappearing entirely. I stood there motionlessly, dazed and shocked as to what had happened. In addition, I was also confused as to what he had said to me...
