241 Complex

Both Loriana and Alvelyn were in the kitchen preparing food, meaning that I became the one to answer the door by default. With a sigh, I forced myself up from the couch, walking over to the doorway and tapped on the dark monitor by the door and navigated to the camera outside. Using the camera's feed, I saw that the visitors were in fact the others. I brought a hand to the door handle and before I opened it, I took a deep breath.

"Took you a good while," Noah said with a grin on his face.

"We thought we would come by and see how you're doing," Irina explained.

"How long are you going to make us stand outside?" Noah then asked, complaining from having to stand.

"Fine," I sighed and stepped to the side, allowing the group of seven to enter as Mura wasn't present.

After everyone had entered and was standing idly in the opening leading to the living room as they awaited my guidance, I shut the door and walked over to them. As I walked past Loyd and Zaksus, I saw that the two of them were staring at the kitchen where Alvelyn and Loriana was preparing food for dinner.

Right... I was reminded of the fact that Zaksus...he has a crush on Loriana. And as for Loyd...

"Are you feeling better?" Luna whispered to me.

She caught me by surprise with that sudden question, causing my heart rate to increase, but I quickly calmed myself as I stared at that smile on her pretty face.

"Yeah," I answered her. "No worries."

"That's good to hear." Her smile then became even brighter.

After making sure that I was alright, she walked back over to Erith with her arms behind her back in a cheerful and playful manner. My eyes were caught by her cheerful figure as she walked away, staring at her for a moment before I was reminded of the situation and cleared my throat.

"Come on," I said with my lazy voice, probably looking somewhat cold and slightly annoyed as I started walking towards my bedroom.

"Sorry to bother you," Irina smiled and greeted Loriana, who looked over and nodded in acknowledgement.

With my in the lead, I walked over to my closed bedroom door, opening it to allow them to enter. They entered my bedroom one by one as I stood and held the door open for them. I watched as each person entered, and when Muria walked past me and into the room, our eyes met for a second. She glanced over in my direction with a somewhat nervous blush on her face as she nodded and continued into the room.

My eyes followed her as she entered, thinking back on that...vision that I saw.

If what I saw was my past life, then...she's my wife?

That idea seemed to burn itself into my mind, lingering about whenever I looked at her, but what finally pulled me away from that thought was the two people that were still lingering outside while the others had entered, I naturally looked over at them with my emotionless gaze.

Loyd seemed to be frozen in time as he blushed and stared at the closed door leading into Alvelyn's bedroom. He must be fantasizing about what could be beyond the sealed entrance. I believe it is normal for a boy to fantasize about the room of his crush if he's that close to it. Also, I don't think Noah's whispers in his ear helped.

"Go for it," Noah whispered. "She won't know."

Damn, where did he learn that one from? Ralus? Is he even really an angel? Because what he's doing fits the image of a devil more.

I frowned when Loyd gulped as if his self-restraint was being challenged by the tempting whispers of an angel and decided that it was time for me to intervene.

"Get in there," I said to the two of them, successfully breaking the trance Loyd was in.

Loyd blushed and coughed to clear his throat, acting in a dignified manner as if trying to erase the fact that he was caught staring at the closed door leading to his crush's room. Without looking at me, he entered my bedroom. Following behind him was Noah, who was trying his best to suppress his laughter as he giggled.

When Noah entered, I let out a sigh and began to close the door behind me. However, as I turned to face the interior of my bedroom, I saw that Zaksus was staring past me and at the closed door leading to Loriana's room.

You too?

I shook my head and let out a sigh of defeat as I closed the door behind me.

"So this is Alevian's room," Erith commented as she surveyed her surroundings while standing in the open area in the center of my bedroom. She first glanced over at the bookshelf that I have containing the video game disk cases as well as some books before her eyes were caught by my PC. Her eyes seemed to lit up a bit as she saw my set up as she nodded. "You have a pretty good set up."

"Have a seat wherever," I said to everyone, acknowledging Erith's compliment with a simple nod of my head. I guess my PC would look pretty advance to the average person with its stylish case and all that glowed and alternated colors due to the LED lights.

With my expressed permission allowing them to sit down, Noah, Loyd, and Zaksus sat down on my bed, and Irina and Muria sat down on the ground next to the bed. Erith seemed to have taken a liking to my computer desk as she sat down in my computer chair, sitting to the side so that Luna could squeeze and sit down as well.

"Your chair's pretty comfortable too," Erith commented.

"I spend a lot of time there," I responded, explaining the reason as for why I would have a particularly comfortable chair. Besides, every chair that one has in their house should be comfortable in the first place.

"There's still space on the bed," Loyd said to Muria and Irina as he looked over and saw them sitting on the edge of the circular carpet in the center of the room.

"It's fine," Irina politely declined with a smile. "It's less crowded this way."

"Yeah," Noah sighed. "Because of Zaksus."

"I can't really help it when it comes to height, alright?" Zaksus sighed as he engaged in his usual banter with Noah. "Besides, both you and Loyd are taller than average! I'm just a bit more taller than average than the two of you."

I listened in to their banter as I stood by the door, and when I became bored of it, that was when I realized one thing. It is something that is rather horrifying: I have no where to sit down. I looked around my room, searching for somewhere that I can sit but was unable to find anything.

Usually, I wouldn't say that I need to sit down, but I am injured. I have a broken arm that is still in a cast and also fractured ribs. Standing is fine for a short while, but I'm not really in the mood to be standing for a long time.

My worry was interrupted when I heard a knock on the door. I stepped to the side and opened it, revealing Alvelyn in the doorway.

"Loriana urged me to come here," she whispered and explained to me.

She took a step into the room and surveyed her surroundings, taking in the usually large room that is now appearing to be somewhat small when nine people are present. She seemed to notice something that made her want to take action, as she immediately turned around and left the room without saying anything. Looking out into the hallway, I saw that she walked into her room and emerged not too long after with what appeared to be two sofa sack bean bag chairs. The two sofa sacks were too large and inconvenient to carry by arm, so she was dragging them on the ground and then into my room.

"Irina, Muria," Alvelyn smiled and looked over at the two girls sitting on the floor. "You can sit on these."

"Wow!" Irina smiled. "Thank you, Alvy!"

Alvy? What kind of name is Alvy? Who the hell is Alvy? Alvelyn? Her? I glanced over at my female form in surprise. When did she become so close with them?

On Alvelyn's face, that faint, pleasant smile continued as she surveyed the room once again. However, she seemed to realize something else as the smile was replaced by a slight frown once again.

"Can one of you get off from the bed?" Alvelyn asked the three boys on the bed. "Alevian needs a place to sit."

"I totally forgot about that," Loyd immediately got up and smiled apologetically at both Alvelyn and I. "He just got out of the hospital."

"Loyd," Irina grabbed his attention. "You can sit on the other one. Muria and I can share one."

I looked over at Irina and discovered that she was, in fact, sitting with Muria on the other sofa sack. The two of them were sitting extremely close to each other as the leaned back comfortably on the sofa sack.

"Thanks," Loyd smiled at them as he took the other free sofa sack.

"Alvy," Irina then smiled at Alvelyn. "Come sit with us."

Just as Alvelyn was about to walk over to accept that invitation from Irina, I stopped her by taking a small step towards her and leaned in her direction. With my face nearing her's, I whispered into her ear.

"When did you buy those?" I asked her.

"Yesterday," she responded. "Elise texted me saying that she will stop by and visit tomorrow."

"Are you some kind of socializing genius?" I asked her with a dazed look on my face as I looked over at Irina and Muria with Elise's image popping into my mind as well.

"I don't know," Alvelyn frowned. "It just...happened."

The confused look on Alvelyn's face appeared to be entirely genuine. I could even sense that slight troubled feeling from her socializing circle that would be my exact reaction if I were in her position. Yet, she does not seem to mind it at all.

Is it really that easy for girls to develop a friendship?
